[14:03] Seren     Thank you for saving us. [14:06] Seren     I am the third daughter of     the Bordeaux family, Seren. [14:10] Blue-Haired Merchant     What? You're a daughter of Count Bordeaux? [14:14] Angeline     Someone so important     should have more guards... [14:18] Seren     While touring the area, I got word [14:20] Seren     that my father collapsed     and is in critical condition. [14:24] Seren     I rode out to see him as quickly as     I could with only my guard at the time. [14:30] Angeline     You're going to see your father? [14:32] Seren     Since we've now lost our horses... [14:35] Seren     It's more than a four-day walk to Bordeaux. [14:42] Seren     I doubt I'll make it in time. [14:46] Seren     But it wouldn't be right to ask     since you saved my life... [14:52] Seren     This must be fate. [14:55] Angeline     What are you saying?! [14:56] Angeline     This is your dear father we're talking about. [14:58] Angeline     Don't just chalk it up to fate! [15:02] Seren     Ms. Angeline... [15:54] Belgrieve     Is it that time already? [15:56] Pete     Sorry. The kids insisted we come now. [16:02] Belgrieve     I'll get ready. Give me a minute. [16:10] Belgrieve     Listen up. We're not here to play. [16:13] Belgrieve     Pay attention to your surroundings. [16:16] Children & Pete     Okay! [16:17] Belgrieve     Pete, how are things up front? [16:20] Belgrieve     Don't just look. Use all of your senses. [16:24] Pete     I hear the trees swaying in the wind,     the sound of flowing water, and... [16:29] Pete     There's a pleasant, refreshing smell. [16:33] Belgrieve     That's the scent of devil's dropwort. [16:36] Belgrieve     It's an herb that only grows     where there's clean water. [16:40] Belgrieve     It means there's a watering hole nearby. [16:42] Children & Pete     Whoa... [16:44] Belgrieve     Okay, let's find that watering hole. [16:46] Belgrieve     But don't focus solely on that. [16:50] Belgrieve     We could run into beasts or      monsters at any moment. [16:54] Children & Pete     Okay! [16:59] Belgrieve     Let's gather devil's dropwort, everyone. [17:03] Belgrieve     But don't wander off too far. [17:06] Children & Pete     Okay! [17:08] Children     Let's start over there. [17:09] Children     What's it look like? [17:12] Belgrieve     Come to think of it,     I came here often with Ange. [17:16] Belgrieve     She learned everything     after seeing it just once. [17:20] Young Angeline     Dad, this is it, right? [17:22] Belgrieve     Sure is. Nicely spotted. [17:27] Belgrieve     Feels like it was more     than just a child's quick wit. [17:31] Belgrieve     Go figure she made it to rank S. [17:34] Belgrieve     In contrast, I'm just a wannabe quitter. [17:39] Belgrieve     I... [17:41] Belgrieve     No, I wouldn't have found Ange     if I hadn't returned to Orphen. [17:48] Belgrieve     What will be, will be. [17:54] Belgrieve     Oh, no! [18:09] Sister     Mr. Bel? [18:11] Pete     Are you all right? [18:13] Belgrieve     That was lame. [18:15] Belgrieve     I doubt this would've happened to Ange... [18:24] Anessa     She's really stressed out. [18:27] Miriam     Seriously. [18:28] Angeline     I'm gonna work so hard that the next     time I take an extended vacation, [18:31] Angeline     the guild won't be able to say a word! [18:34] Miriam     Say, say! If you're feeling stressed,      I know a nice place. [18:38] Miriam     Why don't we all go? [18:40] Both     Huh? [18:47] Anessa     Can we finish all of this? [18:53] Angeline     It's so good! [18:56] Miriam     I'm so happy. [18:59] Anessa     It's not too sweet or greasy. [19:02] Miriam     It's tasty! [19:04] Angeline     It's the best! [19:06] Anessa     It's certainly good. [19:08] Angeline     Ane, if you don't want that, can I have it? [19:11] Anessa     Nope. This is mine. [19:14] Angeline     I wish my dad could try this. [19:17] Anessa     It's too bad about the other day. [19:19] Miriam     You haven't been home yet, right? [19:22] Angeline     Right. I don't know when     I'll be able to take time off next. [19:26] Anessa     But didn't you save a daughter     of Count Bordeaux? [19:31] Angeline     Yeah, apparently. [19:33] Anessa     He governs land in the north     that includes Turnera. [19:37] Anessa     I'm impressed you made a connection     with such an influential noble. [19:41] Angeline     I don't care about that. [19:44] Angeline     I'm just glad Seren got to see her dad. [19:49] Anessa     I see. [19:52] Angeline     Next time, I'll make it home. [19:54] Angeline     If I keep up this pace, [19:57] Angeline     the guild won't be able to decline     my next extended vacation request. [20:03] Miriam     At least we're raking in the money     since we do nothing but work. [20:09] Anessa     If you've got more than you know what     to do with, why not give to the orphanage? [20:13] Miriam     Oh, you're so right.     The sister would be delighted. [20:18] Angeline     The orphanage? [20:19] Anessa     We grew up in an orphanage. [20:21] Miriam     The sister was like a mother to us. [20:24] Miriam     I guess we didn't have a father. [20:28] Angeline     I never knew that. [20:30] Angeline     We never talk about our life stories. [20:34] Miriam     You're right. [20:35] Anessa     We're always talking about     monsters or adventurers. [20:40] Angeline     I was abandoned as a baby. [20:42] Angeline     My dad found me in the mountains. [20:45] Anessa     What? [20:47] Miriam     For real? Seriously? Tell us more! [20:53] Angeline     Dear Dad... I'm sorry I haven't     been able to come home. [20:58] Angeline     After reaching rank S,     I joined my first party. [21:10] Angeline     Anessa is the oldest and very serious. [21:13] Angeline     She never misses with her bow. [21:17] Angeline     She handles all the troublesome     negotiating that comes with jobs. [21:21] Angeline     Miriam is a year older than me. [21:23] Angeline     She's a mage skilled in lightning magic. [21:26] Angeline     Even though she's shorter than me,     she's better endowed. [21:30] Angeline     It's frustrating, but I have faith in myself.     I'm still growing! [21:36] Angeline     Still, I'd rather speak with you in     person than write you letters. [21:44] Angeline     There's so much I can't fit in writing     that I hardly know what to do. [21:48] Angeline     I miss you. [21:50] Angeline     I'm sure I'll make it home next time. [06:01] Belgrieve     Her stance is beautiful. Interesting. [06:24] Sasha     What impact! [06:30] Sasha     I lost... [06:33] Belgrieve     Thank you for the match. [06:36] Sasha     You must've been a famous     adventurer in your day. [06:42] Belgrieve     I lost a leg when I was just getting started. [06:45] Belgrieve     I retired soon after, and I've been     hiding out in Turnera ever since. [06:50] Belgrieve     I was only ever rank E. [06:52] Sasha     Wh-What? E? [06:57] Sasha     I'm impressed! [06:59] Belgrieve     What? [07:01] Sasha     Despite your wooden leg,     you've achieved such strength! [07:04] Sasha     I cannot begin to imagine     how hard you've trained! [07:08] Sasha     Not only that, but you protect Turnera     rather than seeking a name for yourself. [07:12] Belgrieve     E-Er, Lady Sasha? [07:15] Sasha     On top of that, you raised     an S-rank adventurer! [07:19] Sasha     Instead of pursuing fame and glory, [07:21] Sasha     you've dedicated yourself to guiding     the next generation and this small village. [07:26] Sasha     You've shown me the light! [07:29] Belgrieve     Actually, uh... [07:31] Sasha     If I may be so bold, please allow me      to call you my mentor as well. [07:36] Belgrieve     Hold on, Lady Sasha... [07:38] Sasha     Farewell now, Master! Until we meet again! [07:43] Belgrieve     Huh? [07:49] Belgrieve     Was that a dream? [07:56] Angeline     What? No jobs? [07:58] Assistant     There are no S-rank jobs available. [08:01] Angeline     Then can I take a month off? [08:04] Assistant     I-I'm afraid we can't do that. [08:07] Assistant     Monsters have been more active recently. [08:10] Assistant     There's no telling what may happen. [08:21] Miriam     You look super miserable. [08:24] Angeline     I don't need these tiny little breaks. [08:27] Anessa     Now, now.     You should appreciate your days off. [08:30] Angeline     It's not a real vacation unless I can go back     to Turnera for quality time with my father. [08:36] Miriam     You need someone to spoil you? [08:39] Miriam     There, there. Good girl. Who's a good girl? [08:46] Angeline     You couldn't hope to replace my father, Miri. [08:50] Anessa     The guild says there are no jobs,     but we're still at the mercy of monsters. [08:55] Miriam     Right? I feel like they     never used to attack the city. [09:01] Angeline     Why can't they just mind their own business     somewhere far, far away from here? [09:05] Mirima     I've heard rumors that the demon kings      may be returning. I wonder if that's it. [09:10] Anessa     That's hard to believe, but it is true that     monsters are becoming more active. [09:16] Angeline     What's this about the demon kings?     Aren't there supposed to be a bunch? [09:19] Anessa     Yeah, the 72 demon kings of Solomon. [09:23] Anessa     If the legends are to be believed, that is. [09:26] Miriam     They were made by     Solomon the Great Wizard, right? [09:29] Anessa     Yup. [09:30] Anessa     He was a master of all     kinds of magic and alchemy. [09:35] Anessa     He made a wide variety of      spells and handy tools. [09:38] Anessa     But his incredible prowess     drove him to hunger for power, [09:43] Anessa     and he created immortal constructs     known as homunculi. [09:47] Anessa     He used them to conquer the land, [09:50] Anessa     but later in life, he lost his mind     and control of his magic, [09:54] Anessa     eventually vanishing beyond     the reaches of space-time. [09:57] Anessa     Without a master, the homunculi     he left behind went on a rampage. [10:01] Anessa     They destroyed many a nation. [10:04] Anessa     Until at last, a hero blessed with      Goddess Vienna's protection [10:07] Anessa     traveled the land to subdue the homunculi,      bringing an end to the turmoil. [10:13] Anessa     They say those homunculi are the demon kings,      but since it's all legend, [10:17] Anessa     no one knows for certain. [10:19] Miriam     Now that I think about it, [10:21] Miriam     there's a shady group that's been trying     to bring back the demon kings recently. [10:25] Angeline     If the demon kings return, then it'll     be even harder to get time off. [10:31] Miriam     I bet you'd be able to beat a demon king. [10:34] Angeline     Of course I could. [10:36] Angeline     I'm the daughter of Belgrieve the Red Ogre. [10:39] Anessa     I believe it, which is all the scarier. [10:44] Assistant     Ms. Angeline! [10:46] Assistant     A wyvern has been spotted. [10:48] Assistant     Could I ask you to handle it? [11:06] Belgrieve     Chief. [11:08] Hoffman     Hey, Bel. [11:09] Belgrieve     Need help with anything? [11:11] Hoffman     Can't say we do. [11:12] Hoffman     The young'll never learn     unless we make them do it. [11:15] Kerry     Heya, Bel! [11:18] Belgrieve     Hey, Kerry. [11:19] Kerry     Is Angeline coming home yet? [11:21] Belgrieve     Not yet, it seems. [11:23] Hoffman     I see. [11:25] Belgrieve     I hear a bunch of urgent jobs came in. [11:28] Blue-Haired Merchant     Um, excuse me. [11:30] Blue-Haired Merchant     Are you Mr. Belgrieve the Red Ogre? [11:35] Belgrieve     This again? I am Belgrieve, yes. [11:40] Blue-Haired Merchant     I knew it! [11:42] Blue-Haired Merchant     You were talking about Ms. Angeline, [11:44] Blue-Haired Merchant     and you have such magnificent red hair! [11:47] Belgrieve     That's, uh, right. [11:49] Blue-Haired Merchant     Your daughter was actually      my escort the other day. [11:52] Belgrieve     Oh, you don't say? [11:55] Blue-Haired Merchant     While on the road, she gallantly     rescued some people from bandits. [11:58] Blue-Haired Merchant     The Black-Haired Valkyrie     lives up to her reputation! [12:01] All     Wow. [12:03] Kerry     Ange sure is working hard. [12:05] Belgrieve     Yeah. [12:13] Blue-Haired Merchant     That's the crest of House Bordeaux. [12:16] Belgrieve     The Bordeaux family, eh? [12:18] Helvetica     I'm sorry if I gave you a start. [12:21] Helvetica     You see, I'm here looking for someone. [12:24] Hoffman     I'm Hoffman, the chief of this village. [12:27] Hoffman     You appear to be a member     of the Bordeaux family. [12:31] Helvetica     I should introduce myself. [12:33] Helvetica     My name is Helvetica Bordeaux. [12:37] Helvetica     As my father passed away recently, [12:39] Helvetica     I am now Countess Bordeaux. [12:42] Kerry     So that's the famous Lady Helvetica. [12:45] Belgrieve     She's famous? [12:46] Kerry     Yeah. She's a charismatic warrior and scholar. [12:49] Kerry     Rather than taking a husband, [12:51] Kerry     she was named her father's heir     and tasked with ruling his lands. [12:55] Hoffman     I had no idea you were the countess. [12:58] Helvetica     Please rise. I don't enjoy     brandishing my authority. [13:02] Hoffman     We are honored to have you here, [13:05] Hoffman     but we harbor no criminals     or fugitives in this village. [13:09] Helvetica     Worry not. I did not come      in pursuit of any criminal. [13:13] Helvetica     I am here to meet Mr. Belgrieve the Red Ogre. [13:18] Hoffman     What? Belgrieve... the Red Ogre? [13:27] Helvetica     You are Mr. Belgrieve, are you not? [13:28] Belgrieve     Y-Yes, I am. [13:31] Helvetica     I am grateful your daughter     rescued my younger sister. [13:35] Belgrieve     U-Uh, you're welcome. [13:40] Helvetica     I see you're rather well-trained. [13:42] Helvetica     And I've heard you're     impressive with a sword. [13:46] Belgrieve     Oh, uh... thank you. [13:50] Helvetica     I actually came today     because I have a request. [13:55] Helvetica     Allow me to be direct. [13:57] Helvetica     Mr. Belgrieve, I would like you     to serve the Bordeaux family. [14:03] Belgrieve     What? [14:05] Kerry     B-Bel? Serve the Bordeaux family? [14:14] Helvetica     Now then... [14:15] Belgrieve     I'm sorry. [14:17] Belgrieve     I have no intention of leaving Turnera. [14:21] Belgrieve     I'm already 42, and I'm only getting weaker. [14:24] Belgrieve     I doubt I'd be of any use to you as I am. [14:27] Helvetica     Whatever do you mean? [14:29] Helvetica     I heard from Sasha that     you defeated her with ease. [14:34] Helvetica     We would love to employ such strength. [14:37] Belgrieve     Maybe it's because I used to be an adventurer,      but I'm not cut out to serve a liege. [14:41] Helvetica     Won't you please make an exception? [14:43] Belgrieve     I'm afraid not. [14:44] Helvetica     We'd be willing to pay you anything. [14:46] Belgrieve     I simply cannot. [14:48] Helvetica     I insist, please come to me. [14:52] Belgrieve     I'm very sorry. [14:55] Helvetica     I see. You're as stubborn as you are strong. [15:01] Belgrieve     I was born that way, too. [15:04] Helvetica     Then you leave me no choice. [15:07] Helvetica     Come, everyone. [15:09] Soldiers     Yes, milady! [15:10] Helvetica     We'll take him back by force. [15:15] Belgrieve     What? [15:22] Helvetica     I'll do whatever it takes to      make you serve my family. [15:29] Belgrieve     She may be the countess,     yet she's still but a young girl inside. [15:34] Belgrieve     The responsibility must     be making her desperate. [15:37] Belgrieve     So be it. I shall take on     your men until you relent. [15:51] Helvetica     Hey, what's gotten into all of you? [15:54] Helvetica     He's just one man. [15:56] Soldiers     B-But... [15:58] Soldiers     He's utterly unassailable! [16:04] Helvetica     I admit you've thoroughly bested me. [16:07] Belgrieve     Are we on the same page now? [16:10] Helvetica     Since it's come to this... [16:13] Helvetica     I have no choice but to become yours instead! [16:17] Belgrieve     What? [16:18] Kerry     Bel's marrying up? [16:19] Villager 1     This autumn festival's gonna be a wedding! [16:22] Helvetica     Though you may find me lacking,     I hope you'll have me. [16:26] Belgrieve     But, uh... [16:27] Seren     Sister! [16:30] Seren     What did you come here to do? [16:34] Helvetica     Why, I came to persuade     Mr. Belgrieve to join us. [16:37] Seren     You tried to cart him off by force,     didn't you? [16:41] Seren     Lock her in the carriage! [16:43] Soldiers     Yes, milady! [16:47] Seren     I'm sorry for the trouble. [16:49] Seren     You're Mr. Belgrieve, aren't you? [16:51] Belgrieve     I-I am. [16:53] Seren     My name is Seren Bordeaux. [16:54] Seren     Ms. Angeline saved my life and took me      to see my father on his deathbed. [17:00] Seren     I'd like to express my gratitude. [17:03] Seren     Please forgive my sister's rude display. [17:06] Belgrieve     It's fine. I'm not offended. [17:10] Seren     Thank you. Normally,     she's perfectly respectable, [17:14] Seren     but when she hears of exceptional     talent, she can't help herself. [17:20] Helvetica     Let me out. I promise I won't do it again. [17:23] Seren     No! I'm not letting you out      until we get home! [17:28] Seren     Come, everyone. Let's not bother     these folks any longer. We're off. [17:32] Belgrieve     But if you leave now,      it'll be dark before you get far. [17:37] Seren     This is how it must be. [17:39] Seren     We cannot impose on you, after all. [17:41] Belgrieve     The autumn festival is tonight. [17:43] Belgrieve     Why don't you stick around? [17:46] Seren     What? But... [17:48] Belgrieve     We'd be honored to have the      countess's family join us. [17:52] Belgrieve     Right, Chief? [17:54] Hoffman     Sure enough! Our shabby little village      would love to have you. [17:57] Seren     In that case, if you insist. [18:00] Belgrieve     I do, but I have one condition. [18:04] Belgrieve     Please let Lady Helvetica      out of the carriage. [18:11] Seren     If you say so, Mr. Belgrieve. [18:17] Helvetica     Mr. Belgrieve, you have my deepest gratitude! [18:22] Belgrieve     It's not that big a deal. [18:23] Helvetica     How merciful! I simply must have you      for the Bordeaux family. [18:27] Seren     Sister! [18:28] Helvetica     I-I was merely kidding. [18:32] Child A     Hey, hey! [18:33] Child B     Let's have some cowberries. [18:36] Child C     Come with us, scary lady. [18:39] Seren     Scary? [18:41] Belgreive     She's really a very sweet girl. [18:49] Miriam     Ange, over here! [18:53] Angeline     Did you two already defeat the monsters? [18:56] Anessa     Yeah, Miri's area-of-effect spells      made quick work of them. [19:00] Anessa     By the way, does the guild have any idea     why so many monsters are cropping up? [19:05] Angeline     Not at all. [19:07] Angeline     The adventurers dispatched to determine     why they're appearing so quickly [19:13] Angeline     are also overwhelmed     just handling their numbers. [19:16] Miriam     Lots of adventurers are leaving Orphen     because they hate being so busy. [19:21] Miriam     We're going to be short-handed soon. [19:23] Angeline     I told the guild master to call in     retired adventurers, too. [19:28] Employee     Thank you for waiting. [19:29] Angeline     Thanks. [19:31] Angeline     Wait, retired adventurers... [19:34] Mirima     What is it, Ange? [19:37] Angeline     I just had an incredible idea. [19:39] Angeline     I should ask my dad to come to     Orphen and resume adventuring. [19:44] Anessa     Come to think of it, [19:46] Anessa     didn't you say he's so strong     you've never landed a blow on him? [19:49] Miriam     It'd solve the adventurer shortage,     and you'd get to see your dad. [19:53] Miriam     Two birds with one stone! [19:54] Angeline     Damn, why didn't I think of that sooner?     I'm such a dummy! [20:03] Angeline     But I feel like my dad and     Turnera are inseparable... [20:12] Angeline     I want to go home... [20:16] Blue-Haired Merchant     Ms. Angeline? [20:19] Angeline     Oh, you're that merchant. [20:20] Blue-Haired Merchant     Thank you for your help before. [20:23] Anessa     You know each other? [20:24] Angeline     Yes, I escorted her for a job. [20:27] Blue-Haired Merchant     By the way, I visited     Turnera during the autumn festival. [20:31] Blue-Haired Merchant     I met your father there. [20:33] Angeline     Is he doing well?! [20:35] Angeline     What'd you do? What'd you talk about? [20:39] Blue-Haired Merchant     Uh, he was doing great. [20:42] Blue-Haired Merchant     He readily handled a group of the     Bordeaux family's bodyguards. [20:46] Angeline     He did what? Why? [20:49] Blue-Haired Merchant     Lady Helvetica, the new countess,     came to see him... [20:54] Angeline     How dare she try to take my dad from me! [20:58] Angeline     She may be Seren's sister,     but she won't get away with this! [21:01] Blue-Haired Merchant     Now, now. The whole thing was called off. [21:06] Angeline     Of course. I knew my dad     could handle it. He's the coolest. [21:10] Angeline     I bet he was awesome! [21:11] Blue-Haired Merchant     Yes. Honestly, I was surprised. [21:14] Blue-Haired Merchant     He really lives up to the name "Red Ogre." [21:19] Angeline     You've got a good eye. [21:21] Angeline     Let me treat you today. [21:23] Angeline     We must discuss my dad's     charms at great length. [21:26] Blue-Haired Merchant     Um... [21:28] Miriam     What? For real? [21:31] Angeline     It's settled! I'm in such a good mood,     I'll treat you guys, too! [21:34] Miriam     Heck yeah! [21:35] Blue-Haired Merchant     U-Um, I appreciate it, but I have business     negotiations early tomorrow morning. [21:40] Anessa     Don't fight it. [21:42] Anessa     Once Ange starts talking about      the Red Ogre, you can't stop her. [21:56] Voice     Master... [21:59] Voice     I'm so lonely... [22:01] Voice     Master... [00:05] All     It's huge. [00:06] Belgrieve     Welp, butchering this thing won't be easy. [00:10] Kerry     It's incredible you took down     that monster by yourself. [00:13] Belgrieve     More importantly, could you give me a hand? [00:16] Kerry     Sure thing. [00:18] Kerry     Thanks to you, we all feel     safe working on the mountain. [00:21] Belgrieve     I'm not exactly doing it for the thanks. [00:25] Kerry     That's what we like about you. [00:28] Belgrieve     Don't make fun of me. [02:17] All     It's been ages. [02:19] Ange     I see a lot of people I don't recognize. [02:21] Miriam     You're right. [02:22] Anessa     But we sure know those guys over there. [02:26] Cheborg     Lionel, you look like a mess. [02:30] Dortos     I can't believe things have gotten     so dire you needed to call on us. [02:34] Angeline     General Muscles and Uncle Silver! [02:39] Cheborg     If it isn't Ange! [02:43] Cheborg     How've you been? [02:45] Angeline     Great! Who do you think I am? [02:50] Chebolg     You haven't changed one bit. [02:53] Dortos     Come on, Cheborg. Don't slap her     with all your muscleheaded might. [02:57] Cheborg     Huh? You got something to say, Dortos? [03:00] Dortos     Don't shout in my ear, idiot. [03:02] Cheborg     Huh?! What was that?! [03:05] Adventurer A     Who're the old dudes? [03:08] Adventurer B     They're retired S-rank adventurers. [03:11] Adventurer A     What? [03:12] Adventurer B     The guy in the military uniform     is Cheborg the Annihilator. [03:16] Adventurer B     He's a former soldier of Estogal. [03:18] Adventurer B     The magical tattoos on his     arms boost his strength. [03:23] Adventurer B     He can pulverize anything. [03:24] Adventurer B     The guy in white is the duchy's     premier polearm master, [03:27] Adventurer B     Dortos the Silver. [03:29] Adventurer B     Two grown men together     could barely lift his weapon, [03:34] Adventurer B     but he wields it with one hand. [03:36] Adventurer A     In other words, they're both monsters... [03:39] Angeline     If you're here, does that mean     you've resumed adventuring? [03:42] Dortos     Yes. With so many monsters about,      we had no choice. [03:47] Cheborg     That's right. The young guns     are a bunch of weaklings. [03:51] Angeline     All right! I'm so glad you both came back! [03:56] Angeline     Well done, Guild Master! Thank you. [04:01] Lionel     Only because you kept begging me to do it. [04:04] Lionel     It wasn't cheap, though. [04:07] Lionel     I don't know how I'll live from now on... [04:10] Lionel     We haven't seen monsters like this     for the past century. [04:15] Angeline     Still, it took you long enough to act on it. [04:20] Lionel     I know, I know. I'm incompetent. [04:23] Angeline     By the way, why'd you     gather this many people? [04:27] Lionel     Now that we've got enough hands, [04:29] Lionel     we can take down the cause     of this monster outbreak. [04:36] Angeline     You... know what's causing it? [04:39] Lionel     I only put it together yesterday,     so I don't have proof... [04:43] Lionel     but I think a demon king has returned. [04:46] Angeline     A demon king? Truly? [04:48] Lionel     I can't say for sure. There's a limit     to what I can investigate myself. [04:53] Lionel     I'm having someone else confirm     my suspicions right now. [04:56] Angeline     You were looking into it alone? [04:58] Lionel     My employees are regular citizens, [05:00] Lionel     so the most I can have them do     is search through documents. [05:03] Angeline     You could've gone to low-ranking adventurers. [05:06] Lionel     No way. I can't send low-rankers out [05:09] Lionel     where high-rank monsters are appearing. [05:12] Lionel     I'm a former S-rank, you know. [05:14] Angeline     Then you could've asked high-rankers     to help in their spare time. [05:19] Lionel     It takes more than a day or two     to conduct an investigation. [05:24] Lionel     People would get furious and walk out [05:26] Lionel     if I asked them to help     when they're already so busy. [05:28] Lionel     So in the end, I had to fight a bunch     of powerful monsters by myself. [05:36] Angeline     I had no idea. I can't believe I lectured you [05:39] Angeline     when you've been working so hard on your own. [05:42] Angeline     I'm sorry. [05:44] Lionel     No, it's fine! You're actually     the only one who got angry at me. [05:48] Angeline     What? [05:49] Lionel     If people don't like what's going on,     they normally just leave without a word. [05:52] Lionel     But you gave me an earful. [05:56] Lionel     It was the push I needed. Thank you. [06:02] Cheborg     It's not boring adults, but children who     charge ahead that make the world go round. [06:07] Cheborg     We wouldn't be here if you hadn't     begged him to reach out to us. [06:11] Dortos     That's right. So don't worry about it, Ange. [06:15] Angeline     Okay. [06:23] Angeline     Someone's there. [06:25] Lionel     Maria, anything unusual to report? [06:28] Maria     No, but there's definitely a     warped mass of magic out there. [06:34] Maria     Not only that, but someone's erected a     barrier around it in order to hide it. [06:39] Maria     Whoever did it is pretty skilled. [06:40] Anessa     What? [06:41] Angeline     Is this the place? [06:43] Angeline     I thought this was an E-rank dungeon. [06:45] Lionel     We must not have noticed     because of the barrier. [06:51] Maria     How could you abandon a poor girl all     alone in a place as dangerous as this? [06:57] Lionel     Don't get me wrong.     I sent you because it's dangerous. [07:01] Angeline     Granny Maria! [07:03] Maria     Well, if it isn't Ange. [07:05] Maria     I'm still a spring chicken.     Don't call me "granny." [07:08] Miriam     How are you a spring chicken? [07:10] Miriam     You're an old hag and you know it. [07:13] Maria     Who are you calling a hag,      you dumbass apprentice?! [07:16] Maria     I'm still a spry 68 years old! [07:19] Miriam     You can stop your aging with magic,     but being 68 still makes you old! [07:22] Miriam     Shut up! How dare you speak     that way to your master?! [07:26] Anessa     I see your cough hasn't gotten any better. [07:29] Anessa     You still haven't developed a cure? [07:31] Maria     Nah, not yet. Dragons' curses are nasty. [07:38] Adventurer A     Did you hear that?     She said it's a dragon's curse. [07:41] Adventurer A     Does that mean she's... [07:43] Adventurer B     Yeah. That's former S-rank adventurer     Maria the Dragonslayer. [07:48] Adventurer B     She came into contact with cursed      blood felling an S-rank dragon. [07:52] Adventurer B     She hasn't stopped coughing since. [07:54] Dortos     So he called you in too, huh? [07:56] Maria     Sure enough. [07:57] Maria     I swear... What'd he gather     all the old farts for? [08:01] Cheborg     You haven't changed one bit. [08:03] Cheborg     Still faking that illness? [08:05] Maria     I told you, it's not fake, you meathead! [08:09] Lionel     Um... If you don't mind,      I'd like to continue. [08:14] Lionel     I think we can stop this monster outbreak     by destroying the mass of magic in there. [08:22] Angeline     Do you have a plan? [08:26] Lionel     This many powerful warriors     should be enough. [08:29] Cheborg     Okay, that's enough talk. [08:32] Cheborg     We just need to destroy the damn thing! [08:39] Lionel     Wait, wh-what are you... [08:48] Lionel     What?! [08:53] Maria     Well, the barrier's gone. [09:05] Lionel     What have you done?! [09:09] Cheborg     What's the problem? This makes things simple. [09:12] Cheborg     Hey, demon king! [09:13] Cheborg     Come on out! [09:16] Dortos     I won't let you steal a march on me. [09:18] Cheborg     Oh, yeah? Suit yourself! [09:22] Lionel     Give me a break...     The seniors have started without us. [09:25] Lionel     Let's at least make things     as easy as possible for them. [09:30] All     Yeah! [09:44] Anessa     What is that? [09:45] Mirima     Gross! [09:47] Maria     Looks like the warped magic     caused some monsters to merge. [09:53] Maria     Follow my lead, dunce. [09:55] Miriam     Who do you think you are? [09:57] Both     Ecliptic in the heavens,     path of particles of light... [10:01] Both     A single particle makes waves, [10:04] Both     falling to form a shimmering     mirage on the ground. [10:08] Both     Imperial Thunder! [10:17] Maria     Nice assist, Anessa. [10:20] Annesa     Thank you. [10:24] Angeline     We'll be at a disadvantage if this drags on. [10:26] Angeline     We need to defeat whatever's inside there. [10:30] Angeline     Uncle Silver, we're not getting     anywhere like this. [10:33] Angeline     Leave the small fry to the others      while we charge! [10:37] Dortos     Makes sense to me. Cheborg, let's go. [10:39] Cheborg     Huh? Did you say something? [10:48] Angeline     What is this? [10:54] Dortos     This place looks rather different. [10:57] Angeline     Where's the heart of the dungeon? [10:59] Angeline     There are so many monsters,     I can't sense it. [11:05] Dortos     Ange! [11:11] Cheborg     Don't let your guard down. [11:12] Angeline     Thanks, General Muscles! [11:15] Cheborg     Huh? [11:21] Cheborg     This one seems a bit tough. [11:24] Cheborg     I was hoping to land the     first blow on the demon king, [11:26] Cheborg     but let me handle this one! [11:29] Dortos     Whatever you want. Let's go, Ange. [11:32] Angeline     Be careful, General Muscles. [11:34] Cheborg     Sure. I'll just be here having fun. [11:50] Angeline     Which way? [11:51] Angeline     This won't do. Dad would laugh at me. [11:55] Angeline     Think back... He said a boss monster's     presence feels like it pricks your skin. [12:05] Angeline     This way! [12:06] Dortos     Got it. [12:12] Angeline     There's no mistaking it. The prickling     sensation is getting stronger. [12:17] Angeline     I've fought countless S-rank monsters,     but I've never felt anything like this. [12:32] Dortos     This seems to be the heart of the dungeon. [12:36] Angeline     Yeah. [12:39] Ba'Al     Master, I'm so lonely. [12:42] Ba'Al     Where are you? [12:44] Angeline     That's the demon king? [12:46] Dortos     Ange, don't let your guard down.     Something seems off here. [12:53] Angeline     This is definitely the     heart of the warped magic. [12:57] Angeline     But it's unnerving how     little hostility I detect. [13:02] Ba'Al     Where did you go, Master? [13:07] Angeline     Why are you so sad? [13:11] Angeline     Who's your master? [13:15] Dortos     Ange! [13:16] Ba'Al     Can I see you if I kill more? [13:26] Dortos     I can't pierce it. [13:28] Dortos     Guess they don't call it a      demon king for nothing. [13:32] Ba'Al     I'm so lonely, Master. [13:36] Angeline     I'm sorry. I let my guard down. [13:38] Dortos     It's okay. Look alive. [13:44] Angeline     I can't cut it? [13:45] Dortos     Take this! [13:59] Angeline     Uncle, are you all right? [14:00] Dortos     I'm sorry, Ange. [14:02] Dortos     I can't believe it cracked     my magic-coated polearm. [14:06] Angeline     I'll take point. Can you back me up? [14:08] Dortos     Yes. I'm ashamed I can't do more. [14:25] Angeline     I still can't properly cut through it. [14:28] Angeline     It's like a mass of     high-density magic, but... [14:32] Angeline     My body moves before I think. [14:36] Angeline     When's the last time I felt     like my life was in danger? [14:40] Ba'Al     I miss you. [14:42] Ba'Al     Master, where are you? [14:44] Ba'Al     Ba'al is here... [14:47] Ba'Al     I miss you. [14:50] Angeline     I don't know who it is     that you want to see... [14:53] Angeline     But there's someone I want to see, too! [14:57] Angeline     That's right... This thing is     the reason I can't go home. [15:01] Angeline     If you want to see them so badly... [15:12] Angeline     Go see them already! [15:20] Ba'Al     Master... [15:30] Angeline     Uncle, what happened to it? [15:36] Dortos     You won, Ange. [15:50] Angeline     Where am I? [15:52] Anessa     A room at the guild infirmary. [15:55] Miriam     Ange, I'm so glad you're okay! [16:00] Angeline     Miri, calm down! You're hurting my shoulder! [16:04] Anessa     Come on, get off of her. [16:07] Angeline     Ow... [16:09] Anessa     I'm glad you're all right. [16:11] Anessa     I can't believe you took out a demon king. [16:15] Angeline     How are the others? [16:16] Anessa     They're all fine. [16:18] Anessa     Maria said her throat hurt     and went home, though. [16:21] Mirima     Talk about a heartless old bag. [16:25] Angeline     Good... I'm glad. [16:29] Assistant     Ms. Angeline! [16:31] Adventurers     Ms. Angeline! [16:31] Adventurers     Our hero, the demon king killer! [16:32] Adventurers     Thank you! [16:34] Adventurers     Protector of Orphen! [16:36] Angeline     Stop. You're embarrassing me. [16:38] Miriam     Ange, you're a hero. [16:41] Angeline     That hurts. [16:42] Miriam     Ah, s-sorry. [16:44] Lionel     Ms. Ange, thank you so much. [16:47] Lionel     All that's left is to clean up the      remaining monsters posing a threat. [16:51] Angeline     So there's still more work to do? [16:54] Lionel     No, actually... Well? [16:57] Dortos     We'll handle them. [16:59] Dortos     Take all the time off that you want. [17:03] Angeline     Then you'll keep adventuring for a while? [17:07] Angeline     Come to think of it, I'm starved. [17:10] Anessa     Should we go to our regular place, then? [17:11] Miriam     Let's go! You must be feeling     better if you're hungry. [17:15] Cheborg     By the way, Ange... [17:18] Cheborg     Lionel told me what happened.     I'm impressed you didn't run off. [17:23] Cheborg     A typical adventurer would've gotten     sick of this and fled to another guild. [17:27] Dortos     Defeating monsters day in and day out... [17:30] Dortos     Worse yet, you've been wanting      to see your father, haven't you? [17:34] Angeline     If I left, it wouldn't be the guild      that suffered. It would be the people. [17:41] Lionel     Ms. Ange... [17:43] Angeline     At first, I was angry.     I kept wondering, "Why me?" [17:48] Angeline     But my dad said strong adventurers     help the weak. [17:53] Angeline     He wouldn't like it if     I abandoned Orphen to come home. [18:02] Cheborg     You've got a good dad. [18:04] Dortos     I agree. [18:05] Dortos     Good grief. You've made me realize     just how small a man I am. [18:12] Lionel     So your father was the reason     you remained at the guild? [18:17] Lionel     Sounds like I owe him an awful lot. [18:20] Angeline     That's right. My dad is an incredible man. [18:24] Angeline     They call him Belgrieve the Red Ogre! [18:32] Schwartz     I underestimated Orphen's guild. [18:36] Schwartz     I presumed incompetence. [18:37] Schwartz     I didn't think they'd find this. [18:49] Schwartz     But the biggest threat is     that Black-Haired Valkyrie. [18:53] Schwartz     No matter. I'm only just getting started. [19:06] Miriam     Man, the air here is delicious! [19:10] Angeline     Right? The air in these parts is so clean. [19:13] Miriam     I bet it'd be great for the old hag's lungs. [19:17] Angeline     Miri, you must really love Granny Maria. [19:20] Miriam     N-Nuh-uh. I don't give two toots about her. [19:25] Angeline     If you say so. [19:34] Angeline     Nothing has changed     since I left here five years ago. [19:40] Angeline     My hair has grown longer,     and I've grown taller. [19:43] Angeline     But I still feel exactly the same. [19:46] Angeline     What about Dad? [19:48] Angeline     I've missed him more than anything,     but how does he feel? [19:54] Angeline     He looks after the children of Turnera. [19:59] Angeline     I'm sure he cares for them     like they're his own. [20:03] Angeline     I heard Countess Bordeaux approached him,     but he turned her down. [20:09] Angeline     What if he rejected     her advances because of me? [20:13] Angeline     What if I'm holding him back     from what he wants to do? [20:17] Angeline     What if he's just fine without me? [20:21] Angeline     What if he's not that excited     to see me again? [20:26] Angeline     What if he secretly doesn't     care about me anymore? [20:33] Angeline     My dad isn't like that. [20:35] Anessa     Ange! [20:37] Anessa     Which way should we go from here? [21:06] Angeline     You know, I worked really, really hard! [21:10] Angeline     I reached rank S and beat     a bunch of monsters! [21:13] Angeline     I helped people in need, too! [21:16] Angeline     The other day, I beat a demon king! [21:18] Angeline     Um, I... I... [21:24] Angeline     I, um... [21:27] Belgrieve     You've grown so much. [21:33] Belgrieve     Your hair's gotten long. [21:35] Belgrieve     It looks good on you. [21:39] Angeline     Thanks. [21:40] Belgrieve     You've grown into such a fine woman,     I didn't recognize you at first. [21:53] Belgrieve     Welcome home, Ange. [02:16] Angeline     You add these spices and     honey and drink it warm. [02:20] Kids     Hurry up! [02:20] Belgrieve     Oh, thanks. [02:21] Angeline     Of course! Oh, also... [02:22] Kids     Thank you! [02:30] Belgrieve     You've grown so much. [02:32] Angeline     Huh? Where did I put it? [02:36] Belgrieve     An S-rank tag, huh? [02:49] Belgrieve     Oh, it's nothing. [02:54] Angeline     Bonfires and straw... [02:57] Angeline     You smell nice, Dad. [03:01] Belgrieve     What are you talking about? [03:03] Belgrieve     Even all grown up, you're still such a baby. [03:05] Angeline     No matter how old I get,     I'll always be your daughter. [03:12] Belgrieve     Well, come on in. [03:14] Both     Thanks for having us! [03:16] Belgrieve     I appreciate you coming     all this way with Ange. [03:19] Belgrieve     You must be exhausted from the journey. [03:21] Anessa     No, not at all. We enjoyed     the nice, relaxing trip. [03:25] Miriam     I've never seen Ange get      so affectionate before. [03:29] Miriam     She must really be a daddy's girl, huh? [03:33] Angeline     Listen, it's been five years! No, almost six! [03:38] Angeline     And I've been so patient! Go me! [03:40] Belgrieve     All right, all right. [03:41] Belgrieve     That's enough of that.     Go put your things away. [03:45] Angeline     Okay! [03:47] Angeline     Ane and Miri, you can put your stuff here. [03:51] Kerry     I hear Ange finally made it home. [03:53] Angeline     Mr. Kerry! I was planning     to bring some gifts by later. [03:57] Kerry     Wow, you sure have grown! [04:00] Barnes     Are you really shrimpy little Ange? [04:03] Angeline     Aren't you Barnes, the guy who always lost     sword fights to me despite being older? [04:10] Barnes     You don't have to bring that up... [04:13] Belgrieve     Say, Kerry, if you've got any spare blankets,      could I borrow some? [04:18] Kerry     Sure thing. Ange, come by to pick them up. [04:22] Angeline     Okay. [04:27] Belgrieve     Here. This tea is made from     lent leaves picked locally. [04:31] Belgrieve     Sorry the place is a mess. [04:33] Anessa     No, we're sorry for dropping in on you. [04:36] Anessa     Honestly, this is tidier than our place.      It's kind of embarrassing. [04:41] Miriam     Ane leaves her clothes     all over the place at home. [04:45] Anessa     You mean you do! [04:47] Miriam     Absolutely not. I would never do that. [04:50] Anessa     No fair, Miri. [04:53] Anessa     Sorry to make a fuss... [04:57] Belgrieve     You two seem close. [04:59] Belgrieve     Just like Ange said. [05:01] Both     What? [05:02] Belgrieve     She wrote about you in her letters. [05:04] Belgrieve     She said Ane was a serious girl,      while Miri was... [05:09] Belgrieve     a bit careless but fun. [05:11] Miriam     What? That's not true. [05:14] Miriam     Ange can be pretty careless too, you know. [05:17] Belgrieve     You might be right about that. [05:19] Belgrieve     Thank you both for being Ange's friends. [05:24] Belgrieve     I think you're the reason      she didn't get lonely in Orphen. [05:29] Belgrieve     I'm grateful. [05:32] Belgrieve     Now, drink up while it's hot. [05:35] Miriam     Thanks for the tea! [05:37] Anessa     Come to think of it, on our way here... [05:41] (Flashback) Sasha     My name is Sasha Bordeaux. [05:43] (Flashback) Sasha     Thank you for rescuing     my younger sister, Seren. [05:48] (Flashback) Angeline     You're Seren's sister? [05:50] (Flashback) Sasha     I am! I met your father,     Mr. Belgrieve, the other day. [05:55] (Flashback) Angeline     I see. So you're the one... [06:00] (Flashback) Sasha     M-Ms. Angeline, have I done     something to upset you? [06:05] (Flashback) Angeline     Don't play dumb. [06:07] (Flashback) Angeline     I know you tried to drag     my father off to Bordeaux. [06:10] (Flashback) Sasha     N-No, that wasn't me.     That was my older sister. [06:15] (Flashback) Angeline     What? [06:16] (Flashback) Anessa     Okay, break it up. [06:19] (Flashback) Sasha     You see, it was my older sister, Helvetica,      who made trouble for Mr. Belgrieve. [06:27] (Flashback) Anessa     Don't worry about it.     Our dummy here pestered you, too. [06:30] (Flashback) Anessa     What do we say, Ange? [06:32] (Flashback) Angeline     I'm sorry... [06:34] (Flashback) Sasha     Worry not.     I'm glad we resolved the misunderstanding. [06:37] (Flashback) Miriam     Anyhoo, I had no idea you studied     swordsmanship under Ange's dad. [06:41] (Flashback) Sasha     Yes. Ms. Angeline's father,      Master Belgrieve the Red Ogre, [06:46] (Flashback) Sasha     is a fabulously skilled swordsman. [06:48] (Flashback) Sasha     He's also a talented tactician— [06:52] (Flashback) Angeline     Forgive me for getting the      wrong idea about you. [06:55] (Flashback) Angeline     I see now that you're just like me. [06:59] (Flashback) Sasha     D-Do you really mean it? [07:02] (Flashback) Sasha     I, Sasha Bordeaux, am truly touched! [07:07] Belgrieve     I see. So that's what happened... [07:11] Belgrieve     I'm not sure I have any business instructing     a Double A-rank adventurer, though. [07:17] Anessa     You were an adventurer too, weren't you? [07:21] Belgrieve     I suppose, but this happened     to me when I was young. [07:26] Belgrieve     I was only in the business      for about three years. [07:30] Belgrieve     I stopped at rank E too,     which makes you my betters. [07:35] Miriam     Even so, you seem like a really nice guy. [07:39] Miriam     Since they call you the Red Ogre,     I thought you'd be fiercer. [07:45] Belgrieve     Um, who told you people call me by that name? [07:49] Miriam     Huh? Well, Ange did. [07:52] Belgrieve     What? [07:54] Angeline     Hey, don't flirt with my dad without     discussing it with me first. [07:59] Belgrieve     Ange... [08:01] Angeline     What is it, Dad? [08:03] Belgrieve     Uh, well... [08:08] Belgrieve     What's this about the Red Ogre? [08:11] Angeline     I came up with it! It's your title! [08:15] Angeline     Cool, right? [08:16] Belgrieve     What? Uh... [08:17] Belgrieve     Does this mean you've     been spreading that around? [08:22] Anessa     Ange's been telling everyone all about it. [08:25] Anessa     Did you not know? [08:27] Mirim     There isn't anyone in the Orphen     guild who doesn't know that name. [08:31] Mirim     The father of the Black-Haired Valkyrie, [08:35] Mirim     the powerful ex-adventurer     Belgrieve the Red Ogre! [08:38] Anessa     Even the S-rank adventurers     who came out of retirement [08:42] Anessa     and the guild master recognize him. [08:44] Belgrieve     Ange... [08:49] Belgrieve     What am I going to do? [08:51] Angeline     What's the matter, Dad?     Did I do something wrong? [08:56] Belgrieve     No. I understand that you care for me, [09:01] Belgrieve     but I haven't done anything     to earn that kind of glory. [09:07] Anessa     You mean you're not     as amazing as Ange says? [09:10] Angeline     Don't get the wrong idea! [09:12] Angeline     Dad is super strong. [09:14] Angeline     Didn't I tell you?     I've never landed a blow on him. [09:17] Belgrieve     Maybe, but it's been five years... [09:20] Angeline     I don't care whether     it's been five or ten years. [09:23] Angeline     If you're not satisfied,     then I'll prove it to you. Dad! [09:26] Belgrieve     Y-Yes? [09:28] Angeline     Duel me. [09:30] Belgrieve     But you just got home. [09:35] Angeline     I don't mind. [09:38] Miriam     We finally get to see the skills      we've heard so much about. [09:41] Anessa     Both Ange and Ms. Sasha praise you highly. [09:45] Belgrieve     What on earth has been going on     without my knowledge? [10:05] Angeline     Dad, don't hold back. [10:12] Belgrieve     I'm not sure how I'll fare against an     active S-rank adventurer, but... [10:41] Belgrieve     You haven't worked on the      habits I told you to fix at all. [10:45] Belgrieve     And... [10:45] Angeline     You hit me. [10:46] Belgrieve     Huh? [10:48] Angeline     You hit me for real, Dad! [10:51] Belgrieve     But... you told me not to hold back. [10:54] Angeline     Up. [10:56] Belgrieve     Come on now. You're seventeen years old. [10:59] Agneline     Up! [11:05] Angeline     You really are the strongest, Dad. [11:08] Belgrieve     Come on, you... [11:11] Belgrieve     It wasn't supposed to go like this. [11:13] Miriam     He beat Ange like it was nothing. [11:16] Anessa     I don't believe it. I mean, Ange is... [11:25] Anessa     Right? [11:26] Miriam     Yeah, yeah. [11:28] Angeline     Well, Ane? Isn't my dad super strong? [11:31] Anessa     Yeah, he's incredible. I'm surprised. [11:36] Angeline     See? I knew you could do it, Dad. [11:38] Angeline     You're totally the Red Ogre. [11:40] Belgrieve     Ange... [11:42] Angeline     What is it, Dad? [11:44] Belgrieve     I'm glad you love me, but could you     stop telling everyone about me? [11:51] Angeline     What? But it's true that you're strong. [11:54] Angeline     Even stronger than me. [11:55] Belgrieve     Regardless, please stop.     I can't say it thrills me. [12:01] Angeline     I see! [12:02] Angeline     They say the skilled hawk     hides his talons, after all. [12:05] Angeline     Got it. I'll keep your secret. [12:09] Angeline     Being an unknown master is pretty cool, too... [12:19] Angeline     We don't have bathtubs in Turnera, [12:21] Angeline     so we wipe down with hot washcloths. [12:24] Anessa     Should I take everything off? [12:29] Miriam     That feels good! [12:33] Anessa     Try not to forget you're a lady.     You shouldn't be so eager to strip down. [12:38] Angeline     Come on, Ane. Take it off! [12:40] Angeline     Did you hear that shriek? [12:43] Miriam     You're so pure, Ane! [12:44] Anessa     Shut up, idiots! [12:47] Angeline     I never seem to get any bigger... [12:49] Angeline     Why is that? [12:51] Anessa     It's not like you've got nothing.      You're just toned. [12:55] Miriam     Yeah, that's right!     You're slender. I'm jealous. [12:59] Angeline     Are you being sarcastic, you jerks? [13:01] Angeline     Darn you, booby monster! [13:07] Miriam     I feel refreshed. [13:09] Anessa     Yeah. This is pretty all right. [13:11] Angeline     I'm glad. I finally feel like     I'm back in Turnera. [13:31] Belgrieve     Are you done yet? [13:35] Angeline     Welcome home, Dad. [13:36] Belgrieve     It's nice to be back. [13:38] Belgrieve     Now, let's have dinner. [13:45] Belgrieve     I doubt it compares to the food in Orphen, [13:47] Belgrieve     but have as much as you'd like. [13:49] Angeline     Dad's cooking for the     first time in five years! [13:51] Angeline     What a feast! I'm so happy! [13:55] Angeline     I smell jarlberries. [13:57] Angeline     You love these. So do I. [14:01] Belgrieve     I guess they might be     hard to find in Orphen. [14:04] Belgrieve     I hope you enjoy them. [14:07] Anessa     They've got a unique flavor,     but they're tasty. [14:09] Anessa     I like them. [14:10] Miriam     Me, too. [14:12] Belgrieve     I see. I'm glad to hear that. [14:15] Angeline     I haven't had this in ages either. [14:17] Miriam     Ange, what is that? [14:19] Angeline     It's a kind of bird called shiragidori.      It's delicious. [14:22] Angeline     You do it like this, hold it so it doesn't drip, [14:25] Angeline     and bring the dish to your mouth. [14:29] Angeline     So good! [14:31] Miriam     Huh. Like this, right? [14:35] Angeline     Miri, you got oil on your hat. [14:38] Miriam     Aw, darn. Now I've done it. [14:41] Belgrieve     Miri, it must be difficult eating like that. [14:45] Belgrieve     Why don't you take off your hat? [14:46] Miriam     Um, well... [14:53] Angeline     Miri, my dad isn't that kind of person. [14:57] Miriam     I know, but... [15:01] (Flashback) Man 1     Look, a beastfolk. [15:03] (Flashback) Man 2     Are those ears real? [15:04] (Flashback) Man 3     You could probably sell her to a     freak show for a high price. [15:07] (Flashback) Woman 4     Did you see that girl's ears? [15:09] (Flashback) Woman 5     Poor thing. She must've had a hard life. [15:14] Belgrieve     I'm sorry. I didn't mean anything by it. [15:18] Belgrieve     You don't have to take it off      if you don't want. [15:35] Belgrieve     I see. So that's why. [15:42] Belgrieve     Your ears were cold. [15:45] Belgrieve     Unlike Orphen,     the nights get chilly in Turnera. [15:50] Miriam     Huh? [15:51] Belgrieve     I know! I've got a wool cap     around here somewhere. [15:54] Belgrieve     It won't get in your way,     and it'll keep your ears warm. [15:58] Belgrieve     It should be over here. [16:01] Anessa     He thinks your ears got cold. [16:04] Angeline     See? [16:07] Miriam     You're right.     He is your dad, after all, isn't he? [16:13] Belgrieve     I found it. Here you are. [16:15] Belgrieve     Huh? What is it? [16:17] Miriam     It's nothing. [16:21] Miriam     U-Um... [16:25] Miriam     Um, would you mind patting me on the head? [16:29] Belgrieve     Uh, sure. [16:35] Miriam     What is this?! [16:37] Belgrieve     Is that what you wanted? [16:39] Miriam     Yes, thank you. [16:43] Miriam     So this is what it's like to have a father... [16:45] Belgrieve     A father? [16:47] Anessa     She can be a bit odd. [16:51] Miriam     You're jealous, aren't you? [16:53] Miriam     I know you are. [16:55] Anessa     N-No, it's not like I want to ride     on his shoulders or anything. [17:02] Angeline     Guys... [17:04] Angeline     If you wish to ride on my dad's shoulders,      you must defeat me first! [17:10] Anessa     I'm telling you, it's not like that! [17:25] Belgrieve     Don't look before you move. [17:27] Belgrieve     How many times do I have to tell you that? [17:29] Belgrieve     You should've gotten it by now. [17:32] Angeline     No one besides you has     ever dodged my attacks. [17:34] Belgrieve     Can you say for certain you won't     meet someone who can in the future? [17:38] Belgrieve     Make all the excuses you want,     but monsters won't listen. [17:41] Angeline     But... [17:42] Belgrieve     No buts. Don't get a big head. [17:45] Belgrieve     Hear me out, Ange. [17:47] Belgrieve     I'll be worried about you     if you can't beat me in practice. [17:51] Belgrieve     You're fighting high-rank beasts      and demon kings. [17:56] Angeline     The demon king wasn't as strong as you. [17:59] Belgrieve     Give me a break. That can't be true. [18:03] Belgrieve     By the way, what was the demon king like? [18:06] Angeline     Well, it was sort of a moving black shadow. [18:10] Belgrieve     A shadow? [18:16] Belgrieve     What'd it look like? [18:17] Angeline     Humanoid, but small like a child. [18:26] Belgrieve     They must be different creatures. [18:28] Belgrieve     If that had been a demon king,     then we would be... [18:32] Angeline     Dad? [18:34] Angeline     What's the matter? [18:35] Belgrieve     Ah, nothing. [18:37] Miriam     Hey, you two! [18:39] Miriam     Wanna have lunch? [18:43] Angeline     Okay! Lunchtime, lunchtime... [18:48] Belgrieve     The demon king looked like a shadow... [18:50] Belgrieve     Since she's rank S, Ange will continue     to fight monsters like that in the future. [18:57] Belgrieve     She can lose her right leg and survive. [18:59] Belgrieve     But if she loses her life, it's all over. [19:05] Belgrieve     Ange. [19:07] Angeline     What is it? [19:08] Belgrieve     Are you going to continue adventuring? [19:12] Angeline     Yeah. After all, it's fun. [19:15] Angeline     It's probably the best profession for me. [19:23] Angeline     Dad? [19:25] Belgrieve     If you want to continue adventuring,     then you must beat me in a duel. [19:31] Angeline     What? [19:32] Belgrieve     I can't allow you to keep going with      half-baked resolve and skills. [19:37] Belgrieve     If you continue adventuring     without beating me first, [19:42] Belgrieve     I'll no longer consider you my daughter. [19:54] Angeline     Dad, you're kidding, right? [20:00] Belgrieve     Pick up your sword. [20:02] Angeline     No. [20:04] Angeline     No, no, no! I don't wanna! [20:08] Belgrieve     You think monsters will heed your whining? [20:11] Belgrieve     Pick up your sword! [20:15] Angeline     I don't want to do this. [20:18] Angeline     This isn't like you... [20:21] Belgrieve     Here we go! [20:26] Angeline     Why? Why, why? [20:29] Angeline     Is it because I made him angry? [20:33] Angeline     No, he's not angry. [20:37] Angeline     He's sad because I'm so pathetic. [20:53] Belgrieve     She got me! [21:00] Belgrieve     Ange... [21:01] Belgrieve     Nicely done.     I knew you could do it, my girl. [21:05] Angeline     Apologize. [21:07] Belgrieve     Huh? [21:08] Angeline     Apologize for being so mean to me! [21:10] Angeline     Don't say you'll disown me! I hate it! [21:14] Angeline     No matter what happens,     I'll always be your daughter! [21:18] Belgrieve     O-Okay, I'm sorry.     I just wanted you to take this seriously. [21:24] Angeline     No! I don't forgive you. [21:26] Angeline     If you want me to, then pick me up. [21:28] Angeline     Squeeze me! [21:30] Belgrieve     You win. [21:32] Anessa     Good. I was worried for a moment there. [21:35] Miriam     I know. It just feels right     when those two get along. [21:39] Anessa     But he really is the Red Ogre after all. [21:46] Miriam     Yeah. [21:51] Belgrieve     I had no idea she could move like that. [21:54] Belgrieve     I'm a fool. She really has grown. [21:59] Angeline     Dad... [00:31] Charlotte     The age of Vienna's cult and the Rhodesian      Empire in its thrall is coming to an end. [00:36] Charlotte     It is not some goddess      who will save us. It is man. [00:40] Charlotte     The teachings of the great Solomon, [00:43] Charlotte     who ruled over the demon kings and     commanded monsters, are our only salvation. [00:48] Mob     Solomon! [00:50] Charlotte     These are talismans of the great Solomon. [00:50] Mob     Down with the nobles! [00:53] Mob     Solomon! [00:53] Charlotte     I'm offering them at the     low price of twenty copper coins. [00:57] Mob     I'll take one! [00:57] Cheborg     What's going on? [00:58] Mob     I want one, too! [01:47] Charlotte     Byaku, you idiot! [01:48] Charlotte     You're supposed to keep people     like that way from me! [01:52] Byaku     Either way, we're getting out of here. [01:54] Byaku     I'm not fighting two former S-rankers. [02:05] Cheborg     That was teleportation magic! [02:07] Lionel     Only a handful of mages can     cast such high-level spells. [04:25] Hoffman     Wow, Bel. That's one huge baby. [04:28] Belgrieve     Chief. [04:29] Hoffman     Everyone's finally agreed that we     can fix up the road to Bordeaux. [04:36] Belgrieve     That's great news. [04:38] Hoffman     Now we can triumphantly     respond to the countess. [04:42] Hoffman     Speaking of, Bel, [04:43] Hoffman     I'd like you to deliver this to her. [04:47] Belgrieve     Me? [04:49] Hoffman     You're skilled, but most importantly,     Countess Bordeaux trusts you. [04:54] Belgrieve     I see. Very well. [04:57] Hoffman     Thanks. [04:58] Angeline     When are you going? [04:59] Hoffman     Soon would be best. [05:01] Angeline     In that case, you should come with us      when we go to Orphen, Dad! I'm running an     errand for the village chief. [05:34] Anessa     I see. That's too bad. [05:37] Angeline     Now that it's decided,     let's head home and prepare! [05:50] Belgrieve     I'm going out. Be good while I'm gone. [05:54] Belgrieve     Now then... [05:55] Angeline     Dad, are you all ready? [05:58] Belgrieve     Yeah, let's be off.     Look after the place while I'm gone. [06:01] Kerry     Sure thing. Go enjoy yourself. [06:04] Kerry     Bring back souvenirs. [06:06] Belgrieve     I'm not going there to have fun. [06:42] Anessa     We'll be in Bordeaux soon.     I hope the sky doesn't open. [06:53] Belgrieve     I'm glad we made it, but would it be     rude to show up soaked like this? [06:58] Anessa     We can visit tomorrow. [07:06] Belgrieve     They only had open seats at the counter.      Business must be booming. [07:06] Miriam     What should I get? [07:08] Anessa     Everything looks so good. What about this? [07:10] Angeline     I'm hungry. What do you want, Dad? [07:11] Miriam     Sounds good. Let's get some of this. [07:13] Anessa     You want that? [07:13] Miriam     It'll be great! I promise! [07:15] Anessa     Should we order some, then? [07:16] Miriam     Yeah! [07:16] Belgrieve     Say, could I get some ale and anchovies? [07:21] Belgrieve     Huh? What? [07:26] Belgrieve     Wh-What is this? [07:28] Angeline     You put them on the bread, like this. [07:41] Angeline     Those aren't for beginners, Dad! [07:44] Miriam     They're super salty and have a unique smell. [07:49] Belgrieve     You should've warned me beforehand. [07:52] Anessa     I'm sorry. Some people like them,      so I thought you might. [07:56] Charlotte     You don't appreciate     the appeal of anchovies? [07:59] Charlotte     Listen here, Byaku. [08:01] Charlotte     Anyone who calls them salty or smelly     might as well be saying what a hick they are. [08:07] Byaku     Whatever. You're only used to them      because you're from Lucrecia. [08:12] Byaku     That stuff is gross. [08:14] Belgrieve     Lucrecia, huh? [08:16] Belgrieve     They're so young, yet so far from home. [08:20] Belgrieve     Vestments? [08:22] Belgrieve     Come to think of it, the head temple     of the cult of Vienna is in Lucrecia. [08:27] Charlotte     Gracious. What am I even doing     out here in the middle of nowhere? [08:33] Byaku     Shut up. You talk too much. [08:37] Charlotte     That's enough, Byaku! How dare you speak to your master that way?! [08:45] Charlotte     Th-Thank... [09:16] Anessa     All I see is a big fish     in a small pond acting up. [09:19] Anessa     I've met plenty of guys like you. [09:22] Gort     Screw you! [09:23] Gort     I won't go easy 'cause you're a woman! [09:29] Anessa     You'll die young if you go picking fights [09:32] Anessa     when you can't gauge your opponents,      Mr. Thunderbolt. [09:35] Mob     You heard her! [09:37] Mob     Get him, girlie! [09:38] Anessa     Guys like him give adventurers a bad name. [09:42] Angeline     So a swordsman lost to Anessa the archer? [09:45] Angeline     Do people really call him by that title? [09:48] Bartender     Obviously not. [09:51] Bartender     He's C-ranker who gave himself that nickname. [09:55] Angeline     Lame. [09:57] Belgrieve     Angeline, you of all people— [09:59] Customer A     Boy, that was satisfying! [10:02] Customer A     You laid Gort's annoying hide      out with one blow! [10:05] Customer B     You must be a pretty strong adventurer. [10:08] Customer B     What's your rank? [10:09] Anessa     She and I are Triple A. [10:11] Miriam     Heck yeah! [10:11] Anessa     And the girl with the      black hair over there is S. [10:15] Customer 1     What? She's rank S? [10:17] Customer 2     Wait, don't tell me you're      the Black-Haired Valkyrie. [10:21] Customer 2     What? The demon king slayer? [10:24] Angeline     I suppose. [10:25] Customer 5     Let me treat you! [10:27] Customer 6     Me too, me too! [10:29] Angeline     I can't eat all of this. [10:32] Belgrieve     Neither can your old man. [10:34] Customer 1     What? You're her dad? [10:37] Customer 2     That red hair... [10:38] Customer 3     The peg leg... [10:40] Customer 3     Are you Belgrieve the Red Ogre? [10:46] Angeline     Yes! My dad is Belgrieve the Red— [10:49] Belgrieve     A-Ange. [10:51] Angeline     Sorry... [10:54] Sasha     I knew it! [10:56] Sasha     I flew right over when I heard     rumors that you were here. [11:00] Sasha     I would've come to meet you      if you'd told me you were coming. [11:03] Angeline     We were filthy and wet from the rain,     so we decided to visit tomorrow. [11:08] Sasha     The Bordeaux family owes you a great deal. [11:10] Sasha     We don't mind if you're wet or filthy. [11:15] Angeline     What should we do? [11:17] Anessa     If they're inviting us over, then why not? [11:19] Miriam     We get to sleep at a mansion, right? [11:21] Miriam     I bet their beds are fluffy! [11:24] Angeline     What say you, Dad? [11:26] Belgrieve     Well, I am here to deliver a letter. [11:30] Belgrieve     Now that we've been invited,     we have no reason to decline. [11:34] Sasha     In that case, come with me, everyone. [11:40] Belgrieve     It's really coming down. [11:44] Angeline     I feel so funny in flowy clothes. [11:49] Belgrieve     You're just not used to it. [11:51] Belgrieve     It looks great on you. [11:52] Angeline     Really? In that case, I'm okay with it! [11:55] Seren     I'm so glad you all made it. [11:57] Angeline     Hey, Seren. Have you been well? [12:00] Seren     I have. You're looking well too, Ms. Angeline, [12:03] Seren     Thank you for coming all the way here. [12:07] Belgrieve     We're sorry to impose     in the middle of the night. [12:10] Seren     My sister is waiting for you.     I'll show you to her. [12:13] Belgrieve     Thank you. [12:15] Angeline     I'm going with you. [12:17] Angeline     Helvetica is the one who     tried to drag you off. [12:23] Belgrieve     We're just going to talk about the road. [12:26] Angeline     I'm going with you. [12:32] Seren     Pardon us. [12:34] Helvetica     Mr. Belgrieve! [12:40] Helvetica     Thank you for coming. [12:42] Helvetica     Your gallant figure is     certainly a sight for sore eyes. [12:45] Belgrieve     I'm honored, Countess.     It's good to see you, too. [12:48] Belgrieve     This is my daughter, Angeline. [12:50] Helvetica     So you're Ms. Angeline! [12:53] Helvetica     I cannot thank you enough     for rescuing Seren. [12:57] Angeline     Are you the woman who     wants to be my mother? [13:02] Belgrieve     H-Hey, Ange... [13:04] Angeline     Stay out of this, Dad. [13:07] Angeline     I'll never forgive you for trying to      steal my dad while I was gone. [13:11] Angeline     But it would be for the best     if he had someone nice around... [13:15] Helvetica     My! Ms. Angeline, does this mean [13:18] Helvetica     you might accept a relationship     between me and Mr. Belgrieve? [13:23] Angeline     You've lost your mind if you think I'll hand     him over to someone who tried to cart him off. [13:28] Angeline     Don't think you can become     my mom that easily! [13:33] Ash     How dare the likes of you speak to her so?! [13:35] Helvetica     Silence, Ash. [13:39] Ash     B-But... [13:40] Helvetica     You would defy me? [13:44] Ash     Forgive me. [13:47] Belgrieve     You're being rude, too. [13:49] Belgrieve     I won't be having any such     relationship with Lady Helvetica. [13:53] Seren     Enough of this, Sister. [13:55] Seren     You told me you'd already given up on this. [13:58] Helvetica     But, Seren... [14:02] Belgrieve     P-Pardon me. [14:03] Belgrieve     Might we proceed with     the business at hand? [14:07] Helvetica     Forgive me. [14:09] Helvetica     I've read the letter. [14:12] Helvetica     I'm delighted to have your cooperation. [14:16] Belgrieve     Thank you. In that case, we'd like you     to advise us on the specifics of your plan. [14:22] Helvetica     Of course. Could I ask you      to give me some time? [14:26] Helvetica     Something of a troublesome      problem has arisen, you see. [14:31] Sign Right     Rodina [14:31] Sign Middle     Bordeaux [14:31] Sign Left     Hazel [14:32] Helvetica     West of Bordeaux, there is     a small town called Hazel. [14:37] Helvetica     Count Malta, who rules the area, [14:39] Helvetica     has raised objections     to sending laborers elsewhere [14:43] Helvetica     when he's in the middle     of repairing his own roads. [14:48] Belgrieve     That sounds reasonable to me. [14:51] Helvetica     But the construction in Hazel     is already 90 percent complete. [14:56] Helvetica     And we previously agreed that sending workers     on to the next project would be no issue. [15:04] Seren     In other words, he's doing this on purpose. [15:06] Sign Top Left     Hazel [15:06] Sign Top Right     Bordeaux [15:06] Sign Middle     Orphen [15:06] Sign Bottom     Estogal City [15:07] Seren     Count Malta was relegated to     Bordeaux from Estogal's capital city. [15:13] Seren     He apparently lost a struggle for power. [15:17] Seren     Because of this, he scorns Bordeaux [15:19] Seren     as a backwater county     and finds fault in all we do. [15:24] Helvetica     His behavior has escalated     since our father's passing. [15:29] Helvetica     I'm simply not a strong enough leader. [15:31] Seren     Most influential figures are      allied with the Bordeaux family, [15:35] Seren     but some nobles are unhappy     that my sister has taken over. [15:42] Helvetica     We suspect Count Malta is egging them on,     but we have no concrete proof. [15:49] Belgrieve     Sounds like a complicated situation. [15:52] Belgrieve     But I'm not sure you should be     discussing it with outsiders like us. [16:00] Helvetica     I'm terribly sorry. [16:03] Sasha     There you are! [16:06] Ash     Lady Sasha, you are a noble.     Please try to act like one. [16:09] Sasha     Oh, I know! [16:11] Sasha     This man here is Ashcroft. [16:14] Sasha     He may be young,     but he serves the Bordeaux family. [16:18] Sasha     He's inexperienced,     but he's also a swordsman. [16:21] Sasha     Would you be willing to instruct him as well? [16:24] Ash     Kindly refrain. I have no need for training. [16:29] Sasha     Honestly, you're so stubborn. [16:32] Helvetica     Sasha, could you please entertain     Ms. Angeline and Mr. Belgrieve? [16:37] Sasha     Yes, of course. [16:38] Helvetica     Now then, if you don't mind     waiting a bit for my reply, [16:43] Helvetica     please make yourselves at home until then. [16:51] Sasha     I'm thinking about throwing a     small party. What do you think? [16:55] Angeline     Good idea. I'll invite Ane and Miri, too. [16:58] Angeline     What about you, Dad? [16:59] Belgrieve     I might rest a bit. [17:03] Sasha     But I wanted to talk to you, too. [17:07] Belgrieve     I'm sorry. Ange, don't stay up too late. [17:11] Angeline     Okay. [17:13] Angeline     Helvetica isn't nearly maternal      enough to be my mom. [17:17] Anessa     And how would you define "maternal"? [17:20] Angeline     An open heart! [17:21] Angeline     I want to feel enveloped by love. [17:23] Miriam     But that might not be what      Mr. Bel is looking for. [17:29] Angeline     What kind of women do men like? [17:33] Anessa     How should we know? [17:36] Anessa     Women who are kind, maybe? [17:38] Miriam     No way! Most men aren't looking     at what's on the inside. [17:43] Sasha     I-Isn't that a bit extreme? [17:46] Miriam     Hardly. The first thing     men look at are a woman's breasts. [17:49] Miriam     Then her legs, then her face. [17:52] Miriam     Can't you feel them staring     when you're dressed lightly? [17:57] Sasha     I see. I do think I know what     you're talking about. [18:01] Miriam     Right? Especially when      it comes to your chest... [18:07] Angeline     Why did you go quiet     when you looked at me? [18:11] Miriam     I'm sorry, Ange. [18:13] Angeline     Why are you apologizing? [18:15] Angeline     Well, whatever.     You're just saying boobs matter, right? [18:19] Miriam     You bet. Large breasts are     definitely maternal material. [18:23] Miriam     Most men can't resist. [18:31] Sasha     Doesn't that make you     quite motherly, Ms. Miri? [18:35] Angeline     No, not at all. [18:37] Anessa     Not one bit. [18:40] Miriam     That's totally unrelated! [18:45] Miriam     Jeez! [18:56] Belgrieve     I'm still stiff. [18:58] Ash     Impressive. [19:00] Ash     Your form and the precision of your blade     make it hard to believe you have a peg leg. [19:05] Belgrieve     Thank you. [19:07] Ash     But you still don't merit Lady Sasha's praise. [19:11] Belgrieve     Yes, I have to say I agree. [19:16] Belgrieve     I hear you're a swordsman as well. [19:19] Ash     I am. I'm not as good as Lady Sasha,     but I can wield a blade better than you. [19:26] Belgrieve     I can see why he's upset that his mistress     is fawning over a stranger [19:30] Belgrieve     who suddenly appeared out of nowhere. [19:32] Belgrieve     But he's honestly trying to evaluate my     skill rather than being swayed by rumors. [19:38] Belgrieve     I see. Lady Helvetica must feel safe     with someone like you by her side. [19:44] Ash     Don't flatter me. [19:46] Ash     I don't care if you're the Red Ogre or not. [19:48] Ash     Don't get ahead of yourself. [19:50] Belgrieve     I wouldn't dream of it.     I appreciate the warning. [19:54] Sasha     Good morning, Master. [19:56] Sasha     If you're willing, I'd like to duel. [19:59] Belgrieve     That's fine. [20:01] Sasha     I'll make you go all out against me today! [20:04] Ash     Pardon me, my lady. [20:06] Ash     But I don't believe this man is as     good a swordsman as you say. [20:11] Sasha     What? [20:12] Ash     I'm having trouble believing     you lost to him. [20:15] Ash     He must have played dirty. [20:17] Sasha     Silence! Try beating me     before you talk like that. [20:20] Ash     I couldn't beat you, Lady Sasha. [20:23] Ash     But I wouldn't lose to him. [20:27] Sasha     How dare you insult my instructor?! [20:30] Sasha     Master! [20:32] Belgrieve     Yes? [20:33] Sasha     Please trounce this fool     so he sees the truth. [20:38] Belgrieve     What? [20:40] Ash     Very well. I shall wake     you from your delusions. [20:45] Ash     Come, Red Ogre. [08:12] Angeline     You're nothing like the     guild master of Orphen. [08:15] Anessa     Hey, now... [08:16] Elmore     I'm sure Mr. Lionel is doing his best. [08:20] Elmore     I'm impressed how he handled the monster     infestation that the demon king caused. [08:27] Elmore     Bordeaux could've sent reinforcements, [08:31] Elmore     though we currently have      no S-rank adventurers. [08:35] Angeline     What's your rank, Mr. Elmore? [08:37] Elmore     I was Double A. [08:39] Elmore     I lacked the talent for adventuring, [08:42] Elmore     but strangely, office work seems to suit me. [08:47] Angeline     Our guild master says it's an     easy job for people with no talent. [08:53] Belgrieve     Hey, Ange! [08:55] Elmore     Yes, yes, I'm sure that's true     of most guilds these days. [08:59] Elmore     But Bordeaux is a little different. [09:03] Sasha     Our guild has always been tied to the county. [09:07] Sasha     Nobles typically shun adventurers,     but Bordeaux was originally a local family. [09:13] Sasha     We have an affinity for the profession. [09:16] Sasha     We've even established a system for the guild     to coordinate with soldiers in emergencies. [09:22] Elmore     This guild contributes     to the town's defenses. [09:26] All     Huh. [09:28] Belgrieve     I see. Still, the town guard and     adventurers don't ordinarily get along. [09:34] Belgrieve     I wonder what other nobles, [09:35] Belgrieve     especially from the heartland,     would think if they came here. [09:41] Elmore     That's odd. [11:16] (Flashback) Young Charlotte     I do. I hate them. [11:18] (Flashback) Young Charlotte     They took everything from me. [13:16] All     Yeah! [13:19] Belgrieve     So this is the Black-Haired Valkyrie. [13:22] Belgrieve     She's grown so strong. [13:29] Belgrieve     No time to stand around being sentimental. [13:32] Adventurer 4     Thank you. [13:33] Adventurer 5     Wait, you're the Red Ogre! [13:35] Belgrieve     I'm not worth much, but I'm happy to help. [13:38] Sasha     Master! [13:39] Sasha     The people have now been evacuated. [13:41] Belgrieve     Lady Sasha and Mr. Elmore. [13:43] Elmore     Something terrible has happened. [13:45] Elmore     The barrier won't activate. [13:47] Belgrieve     Then there's no holding back the undead. [13:52] Belgrieve     The clouds are thickest     around the Bordeaux estate. [13:55] Belgrieve     They came from the west. From Hazel. [13:59] Belgrieve     That's the town where the noble     who's opposing the Bordeaux family lives. [14:04] Belgrieve     Mr. Elmore, are most of the adventurers here? [14:07] Elmore     Yes. Aside from those guarding the citizens,     most of the soldiers are here as well. [14:13] Belgrieve     Someone may be behind this. [14:15] Elmore     Yes. It's odd for something like     this to happen with no warning. [14:20] Belgrieve     I'm heading to the Bordeaux estate. [14:22] Belgrieve     I've got a bad feeling about this. [14:25] Elmore     I'll go with you. Please handle things here. [14:30] Belgrieve     I appreciate it. [14:32] Adventurer 4     Is the countess in trouble? [14:33] Adventurer 5     We're coming, too! [14:45] Ash     Defend this place with your lives! [14:47] Ash     Don't let them get one step closer     to Lady Helvetica and Lady Seren! [14:51] All     Yes, sir! [14:53] Soldier     What is that?! [14:54] Ash     A high-rank creature. [14:55] Ash     Look alive, everyone!     That's no ordinary undead! [15:23] Ash     This is what I get for not knowing my place. [15:26] Ash     I can't fight at full     strength during an emergency [15:29] Ash     because of a spat     my foolish pride got me into. [15:33] Ash     However... [15:53] Elmore     I'm glad we made it in time.     Where is Lady Helvetica? [15:57] Ash     In the room behind me. [15:59] Ash     But what are you two doing here? [16:02] Belgrieve     I kinda had a hunch, but I can't believe     there are high-rank undead here. [16:06] Belgrieve     In any event, I'm glad you're all right. SIGN    You seem to be struggling quite a bit. [19:25] Sasha     Count Malta, what are you doing here? SIGN    I noticed some strange clouds rolling in from the west. SIGN    According to Ms. Charlotte, who happened to be staying with me, SIGN    they contained mana and could be dangerous. SIGN    So I hurried here with my troops. SIGN    I see there were undead creatures. SIGN    What happened to your barrier? [19:47] Sasha     It wouldn't activate for some reason. SIGN    How unfortunate. [14:18] Helvetica     All I can do is offer mere consolations. [14:22] Helvetica     I've made decent progress since I took     over after my father's passing. [14:26] Helvetica     I've gained people's trust. [14:29] Helvetica     Perhaps it made me arrogant. [14:32] Helvetica     I ignored the nobles opposing me,     believing the problem would resolve itself. [14:37] Helvetica     The citizen's lives change according     to those who stand above them. [14:44] Helvetica     I can easily imagine how     things would turn out [14:47] Helvetica     with someone as power-hungry     as Malta in control. [14:50] Helvetica     But if I'm too preoccupied with my own     scruples, then I can't govern properly. [14:59] Helvetica     Surely my father bore this burden as well. [15:11] Miriam     Good. You're all okay. [15:15] Anessa     Where's Mr. Bel? [15:16] Seren     He's fighting so we could get away. [15:19] Miriam     What? We have to go help him! [15:22] Anessa     Mr. Bel will be fine. [03:20] Duncan     It's true that I've already     started to put roots down. [03:23] Belgrieve     Will you settle down and find a wife? [03:26] Duncan     That's not a half bad idea. [03:29] Barnes     Mr. Bel! [03:31] Barnes     A pack of monsters has appeared     on the outskirts of town! [03:39] Belgrieve     That's it! Take them down one at a time. [03:43] Duncan     Looks like they've cleaned up most of 'em. [03:45] Belgrieve     Well done. Nice work. [03:50] Pete     Do you think I can become     an adventurer, too? [03:53] Belgrieve     Maybe, although your dad would be     sad if you left the village. [04:00] Pete     Yeah, but... [04:01] Belgrieve     You've got Duncan and me      to back you up while you're here, [04:05] Belgrieve     but as an adventurer,     you'd really be fighting for your life. [04:08] Belgrieve     Even if you don't lose your life,     you might lose a leg like me. [04:12] Pete     I guess you're right... [04:15] Duncan     Good work today, everyone! [04:17] Duncan     Let's head back to the village. [04:19] All     Yeah! [04:26] Duncan     The parents of youngsters who want to     become adventurers sure must be conflicted. [04:31] Belgrieve     I left my own village to become one. [04:36] Belgrieve     I understand how they feel. [04:39] Duncan     It's a difficult position to be in. [04:41] Duncan     Anyway, those were some     impressive moves earlier. [04:44] Duncan     I'm amazed you're still honing     your skills at your age. [04:48] Belgrieve     You suddenly feel a lot     older once you reach forty. [04:53] Belgrieve     You get strangely anxious, like you     can't keep doing what you're doing. [05:00] Duncan     I know what you're talking about.     I felt old when I turned thirty. [05:05] Belgrieve     It's a little different from that.      You feel your age. [05:10] Belgrieve     Suddenly your body doesn't     move like it used to. [05:15] Belgrieve     You can tell you have more gray hair. [05:19] Belgrieve     They're little things,     but they make you unbearably sad. [05:24] Duncan     I see. [05:28] Duncan     I am sometimes overcome with sadness, [05:32] Duncan     like I've left something behind. [05:37] Belgrieve     Like I've left something behind, huh? [05:39] Belgrieve     Yeah, maybe that's it. [05:41] Belgrieve     I've tried to live life to the fullest, [05:45] Belgrieve     but looking back, what have I accomplished? [05:49] Duncan     What are you talking about?     You raised the Black-Haired Valkyrie. [05:57] Belgrieve     I see. You're right. [06:00] Belgrieve     She might be my greatest source of happiness. [06:05] Barnes     Mr. Bel! [06:07] Belgrieve     What is it, Barnes? [06:09] Barnes     There you are. My dad's calling you. [06:12] Barnes     He says to come to the plaza right away. [06:15] Belgrieve     Sorry, Duncan, but I've got to go. [06:17] Duncan     Understood. [06:22] Belgrieve     Kerry. [06:24] Belgrieve     Did something happen? [06:26] Kerry     That. [06:30] Belgrieve     An elf? [06:39] Belgrieve     Welcome to Turnera, good elf. [06:44] Belgrieve     My name is Belgrieve. [06:46] Belgrieve     If you don't mind,      may I ask what brings you here? [06:50] Graham     Thank you. It would seem     I've scared the villagers. [06:56] Belgrieve     They've never seen an elf before. [06:59] Belgrieve     Forgive them. [07:02] Graham     No, I apologize for not     being more considerate. [07:05] Belgrieve     You're welcome to come to my home. [07:14] Duncan     My name is Duncan. [07:17] Duncan     Once a wandering adventurer,      I'm now lodging with Mr. Belgrieve. [07:22] Graham     My name is Graham. [07:25] Belgrieve     Are you also known as the Paladin? [07:28] Graham     Some people call me that. [07:33] Duncan     You're a hero who's defeated     demon kings and dragons. [07:35] Duncan     It's an honor to meet you. [07:38] Belgrieve     So, Mr. Graham, what brings you      to these parts? [07:42] Graham     I'm looking for someone. [07:44] Graham     While scouring places she may have gone,      I found my way here. [07:50] Belgrieve     "She"? You're looking for a woman? [07:53] Graham     She's a bit of a troublesome tomboy. [07:56] Graham     She has no regard for her position. [07:59] Duncan     So she's nobility? [08:01] Graham     Yes. She's one of the daughters of Oberon, [08:05] Graham     king of the western woods     in the elven lands. [08:07] Belgrieve     What's a princess doing here? [08:09] Graham     Demon kings have been returning     across the land as of late. [08:13] Graham     She is on a journey to slay them on her own. [08:18] Duncan     She's slaying them alone?     She must be incredible! [08:22] Graham     Demon kings possess a special kind of mana. [08:26] Graham     Only those skilled in its manipulation     stand a chance against them. [08:32] Duncan     You mean you have to be a mage? [08:35] Graham     Not quite. [08:37] Graham     Mana is one direction power can take. [08:41] Graham     In the old language of the elves,      we call it ki. [08:46] Graham     In order to wield a weapon     as an extension of yourself, [08:49] Graham     you must use mana as a medium     to channel your senses to it. [08:54] Belgrieve     I see. Now that you mention it,      it is mysterious. [08:59] Graham     Elves possess far greater mastery     over mana than humans. [09:05] Graham     Even for our kind,      she is exceptionally talented. [09:09] Graham     But that worked against her,     and she left the woods. [09:13] Graham     She believes she's defeating them,     but demon kings are immortal. [09:18] Duncan     If you followed the princess's trail here, [09:21] Duncan     then monsters must be appearing     around Turnera because... [09:28] Graham     I can't say for certain that the rise      in monsters is due to a demon king, [09:33] Graham     but it's likely. [09:36] Belgrieve     Well, that's not good. [09:38] Graham     We'll need to investigate. [09:44] Belgrieve     Find anything? [09:47] Graham     The mana here is strange. [09:50] Graham     But whatever's causing it is in the forest. [09:55] Belgrieve     Is it possible the forest     has turned into a dungeon? [09:58] Graham     If that were the cause, [10:01] Graham     the trees would be twisted     and life itself distorted. [10:05] Graham     Though the quality of this mana certainly      feels similar to that of a demon king. [10:28] Graham     You're both quite skilled. [10:30] Belgrieve     What are you talking about?     Next to you, we're practically babes. [10:34] Duncan     Despite your wide swings,     your attacks are sharp. [10:39] Graham     This blade is a living thing. [10:45] Graham     Far to the east, there is a strange     variety of tree known as the steel tree. [10:50] Graham     Its fruit is of superlative quality,     but it is difficult to work. [10:53] Graham     When forged into a weapon,      it is especially receptive to its wielder. [11:00] Belgrieve     Living metal? I'm amazed. [11:03] Duncan     I bet we'll have this little problem     cleaned up in no time. [11:07] Graham     About that... [11:10] Graham     I guarantee she'll detect this     forest's mana and show up here. [11:15] Graham     If anything happens,     I'll do my best to handle it. [11:17] Graham     So would you be willing to wait a while? [11:21] Belgrieve     Very well. With your strength on our side,      we have nothing to worry about. [11:26] Belgrieve     You're welcome to stay with     me while you're here. [11:30] Graham     Thank you for all your help with everything. [11:32] Graham     I'll never catch that unruly     girl unless I ambush her. [11:41] Angeline     I haven't gotten enough dad time recently. [11:44] Angeline     He must be missing me, too. [11:48] Anessa     It sounds like the village depends on him. [11:50] Anessa     He might not have time to miss you. [11:52] Woman     Let's come back soon. [11:53] Man     Sure. [11:55] Man     Where to next? [11:56] Miriam     Ange, why don't you find a boyfriend? [11:59] Angeline     Why? [12:00] Miriam     If you had one here, you could     distract yourself from your loneliness. [12:03] Angeline     What I want from my dad isn't the     same as what I'd want from a lover. [12:08] Angeline     What about you, Miri? [12:10] Miriam     Oh, please. I don't trust men my age. [12:14] Anessa     Don't you think your standards are too high? [12:17] Miriam     I wonder of Mr. Bel would get married. [12:22] Angeline     Where did that come from? [12:24] Miriam     If he had a wife, he wouldn't     be lonely in Turnera. [12:28] Miriam     What kind of woman do you      think would be good? [12:33] Angeline     She'd need to be motherly, I guess. [12:37] Anessa     Motherly, huh? [12:40] Angeline     My dad's wife would be my mom. [12:45] Angeline     My mom... That has a nice ring to it! [12:50] Angeline     I'll have to find a wife for my dad. [12:53] Anessa     What? [12:53] Miriam     Wow, that sounds fun! [12:56] Angeline     My dad's a late bloomer, so if we leave      it to him, he'll never find someone. [13:01] Angeline     So we have to find suitable     candidates for him. [13:05] Angeline     The ultimate decision will be his, of course. [13:09] Angeline     This is starting to sound like fun. [13:11] Miriam     What if he stops spending time     with you once he gets married? [13:19] Angeline     What am I going to do? [13:21] Anessa     You hadn't considered that? [13:23] Angeline     No, my dad isn't that kind of man! [13:26] Angeline     So I'm going to find him a wife!     I'll find my own mother! [13:30] Angeline     Let's get to it! [13:32] Miriam     Huh? [13:32] Anessa     We're going with you? [13:39] Anessa     What are we doing here? [13:43] Yuri     See you later. [13:44] Yuri     Oh, Ange. [13:50] Angeline     I only met Ms. Yuri recently, but her     skin is unbelievable for a 37-year-old. [13:56] Angeline     She's calm but a bit mischievous.     She's a lovely lady. [13:59] Angeline     I wouldn't mind having Ms. Yuri for a mom. [14:04] Yuri     What is it? [14:05] Angeline     Ms. Yuri, would you like me     to set you up with my dad? [14:08] Yuri     What? [14:09] Both     What?! [14:10] Yuri     Um, isn't your father the Red Ogre? [14:15] Yuri     I'm not sure I'd be a good match for him. [14:18] Angeline     Oh, don't say that! [14:20] Angeline     You were Triple A-rank, weren't you? [14:23] Yuri     B-Back when I was still adventuring. [14:27] Lionel     Yuri, about this file... [14:30] Lionel     Oh, Ms. Ange. [14:32] Angeline     Not getting enough sleep, Guild Master? [14:34] Lionel     Not really. Staying up all night      at my age is rough. [14:38] Lionel     It's been like this ever since     that monster infestation. [14:43] Yuri     All you do is complain, Leo. [14:45] Lionel     Don't be ridiculous. [14:47] Lionel     I'd die if I couldn't complain. [14:49] Yuri     You'll be fine. You're still good to go      if you can joke about dying. [14:53] Yuri     Here, I'll even check this file for you. [14:59] Angeline     These two used to be party     members. They're quite close. [15:03] Angeline     Hey. [15:05] Lionel     What is it, Ms. Ange? [15:06] Angeline     Are you two dating? [15:09] Lionel     Why? [15:10] Angeline     You're close. And you trust each other, right? [15:16] Lionel     Well, we used to watch     each other's backs and all. [15:19] Lionel     But that doesn't make us lovers. [15:22] Yuri     It's less that I trust him and more     that I feel compelled to help him. [15:26] Lionel     What? [15:27] Angeline     Regardless, a strong bond has     formed between them. But... [15:32] Angeline     Ms. Yuri, please give some serious     thought to meeting my dad. [15:36] Angeline     Unlike the guild master,     he's actually dependable. [15:40] Yuri     My, you precocious girl. [15:42] Lionel     I bet he really is dependable. [15:45] Lionel     I know, Yuri! You should marry Ms. Ange's dad      and bring him back to Orphen. [15:50] Yuri     I should what?! [15:54] Lione     But it's a great idea... [15:58] Angeline     If Ms. Yuri were my mom,     would she get that mad at me? [16:03] Anessa     Ange. [16:04] Miriam     There's someplace we want to go after this. [16:06] Angeline     What? Where? [16:08] Miriam     Our home. [16:11] Anessa     We're back! [16:14] Rosetta     Welcome back. [16:16] Miriam     How have you been? [16:17] Kids     Welcome home! [16:19] Kids     We missed you! [16:19] Anessa     I'll leave this for you here. [16:20] Angeline     How is everyone? [16:22] Rosetta     Thank you. What magnificent vegetables. [16:22] Kids     Ange came, too! [16:24] Rosetta     I'll boil these tonight and make pasta. [16:31] Kids     I chopped my veggies! [16:33] Kids     Me, too! [16:34] Rosetta     Why, thank you. [16:35] Rosetta     Could you set the table next? [16:38] Kids     Okay! [16:40] Angeline     Ms. Rosetta is a sister at the     orphanage Ane and Miri are from. [16:45] Angeline     She's spirited and good with kids. [16:47] Angeline     She's a very kind 29-year-old. [16:50] Rosetta     Hm? [16:52] Angeline     Ms. Rosetta, have you considered marriage? [16:54] Rosetta     Wh-What? Where did this come from? [16:57] Angeline     You're cute, hardworking, and a good cook. [17:00] Angeline     You'd make a good wife. [17:03] Rosetta     Don't poke fun at adults. [17:07] Angeline     Hey, want me to set you up with my dad? [17:09] Rosetta     Wh-What are you talking about? [17:12] Angeline     No? [17:14] Rosetta     Th-That's not the issue here. [17:17] Angeline     Think about it. My dad's a great guy. [17:26] Miriam     Rosetta, why are you blushing? [17:28] Rosetta     N-No reason. [17:36] Belgrieve     Sorry. We're still not done shearing. [17:39] Duncan     Don't you worry. Leave it to us. [17:43] Belgrieve     Thank you. [17:44] Duncan     Well then, we shall return soon. [17:54] Kerry     Good grief. What a busy year we're having. [17:57] Belgrieve     It's just until the youngsters     get used to the work. [18:01] Kerry     Say, Bel, do you think      Mr. Graham likes this place? [18:05] Belgrieve     Yeah, I think he does. [18:07] Kerry     It's pretty great that an elf     likes our village, don't you think? [18:11] Belgrieve     And yet you're still too embarrassed     to have a real conversation with him. [18:15] Kerry     But I don't know what to talk about. [18:20] Belgrieve     Small talk would be fine. [18:23] Kerry     Then I'll invite him to drink with us. [18:26] Kerry     You'd better bring him. [18:28] Belgrieve     You got it. I'm sure he'll be delighted. [18:31] Barnes     Mr. Bel! [18:33] Barnes     Could you come to the far field? [18:35] Belgrieve     What's wrong? Is it monsters again? [18:38] Barnes     Well, actually... [18:50] Marguerite     How dare they flee after seeing my face. [18:52] Marguerite     Humans are so rude. [18:55] Belgrieve     I'm sorry. They're not used to elves. [18:59] Belgrieve     Forgive them. [19:00] Marguerite     So, who are you? [19:02] Belgrieve     My name is Belgrieve. [19:05] Belgrieve     Are you the daughter of Oberon,     king of the west? [19:13] Belgrieve     I thought so. [19:15] Marguerite     Who told you that? Tell me, or else! [19:24] Belgrieve     I was just thinking about having lunch. [19:27] Belgrieve     If it's not an imposition, [19:29] Belgrieve     I'd be much obliged for the honor     of dining with an elven princess. [19:34] Marguerite     If you insist, then I suppose I must. [19:37] Belgrieve     Thank you. [19:51] Belgrieve     Did you like it? [19:54] Marguerite     I-It was all right. [19:56] Belgrieve     If you don't mind, may I ask your name? [20:00] Marguerite     First things first, old man.     How did you know who I am? [20:04] Belgrieve     I heard from Mr. Graham. [20:06] Belgrieve     He's actually in this village now. [20:10] Marguerite     M-My granduncle? You can't be serious! [20:13] Graham     Marguerite. [20:19] Marguerite     G-Granduncle? [20:21] Graham     What do you think you're doing?      Oberon is worried. [20:25] Marguerite     My father, caring about me? [20:27] Marguerite     Impossible! [20:29] Graham     All parents care for their children. [20:31] Marguerite     You can't be serious! [20:33] Marguerite     I'll make him acknowledge me [20:36] Marguerite     the same way you became famous! [20:43] Graham     No matter how she begged, [20:45] Graham     I never should've told her about my travels. [20:48] Belgrieve     She's a relative of yours? [20:50] Graham     Yes. Oberon is my nephew. [20:56] Graham     I must go after her. [20:57] Duncan     Then I'll go with you. [20:59] Graham     I couldn't bear to have you witness     any more of our family squabbles. [21:06] Belgrieve     Doesn't sound like this is going to be easy. [21:09] Duncan     No. [21:14] Angeline     Nobody's giving me the time of day     even though my dad's a great guy. [21:19] Anessa     You're being a bit too pushy. [21:22] Miriam     Yeah, yeah. You're really rushing things. [21:25] Angeline     You think so? [21:27] Anessa     Why don't you have Mr. Bel visit Orphen? [21:30] Anessa     They might find they get along     if they meet him in person. [21:33] Angeline     Okay! The next time I visit home,     I'll bring my dad back to Orphen. [21:38] Angeline     Then I'll hold a matchmaking party! [21:41] Anessa     Uh, that's not what I meant. [21:43] Miriam     Oh, Ange. [21:49] Angeline     Who should I invite? [21:55] Angeline     It's them. [02:05] Angeline     What are you doing here? [02:07] Angeline     I haven't forgiven you for     what you did in Bordeaux. [02:12] Byaku     So, what? You gonna kill us? [02:16] Angeline     If that's what's best for the world... [02:19] Charlotte     Please! Don't kill Byaku! [02:22] Angeline     Silence. I won't show mercy     just because you're children. [02:25] Charlotte     We'll do anything to earn your forgiveness. [02:27] Charlotte     Please, just spare his life. [02:30] Byaku     She's returning the money to the     families who bought her talismans. [02:35] Byaku     Once that's done, we're going     to Bordeaux to settle matters. [02:40] Angeline     You expect me to believe that? [02:42] Byaku     No, I don't.      I'm only speaking up for her honor. [02:53] Angeline     I've changed my mind. [02:55] Angeline     I still haven't forgiven you, [02:56] Angeline     but I can't kill a man     who won't even defend himself. [03:00] Charlotte     Th-Thank you so much. [03:04] Angeline     I've got a lot of questions for you. [03:13] Angeline     Jeez, just how many people hate you? [03:16] Charlotte     They're with the Inquisition. [03:19] Charlotte     Of the Lucrecian Holy Court. [03:32] Byaku     Magic and medicine have robbed     them of their sense of self. [03:35] Byaku     They'll attack until they're dead. [03:37] Byaku     We have to kill them. [03:39] Angeline     I don't like this. [03:55] Angeline     Killing people really      doesn't sit right with me... [03:58] Angeline     Come with me. There's much I want to ask. [04:07] Angeline     So, who are the Inquisition? [04:10] Charlotte     An underground order     of the Lucrecian Holy Court [04:13] Charlotte     that secretly deals with heretics     and those who defy the court. [04:18] Angeline     And why are they coming after you? [04:20] Charlotte     It all started when my father, [04:23] Charlotte     a bishop of Lucrecia,     got caught up in a power struggle. [04:28] Charlotte     He was falsely accused     and branded a heretic. [04:32] Angeline     So you were acting as a heretical saint [04:34] Angeline     to avenge your murdered parents? [04:38] Charlotte     I believed what I was saying. [04:41] Charlotte     That's why I was able to do those things... [04:48] Charlotte     But I decided to stop it all      after I lost my ring. [04:53] Charlotte     I hate the cult of Vienna, [04:56] Charlotte     but I doubt my father or mother     would approve of seeking revenge. [05:00] Angeline     Yet in spite of that, you raised     Seren's late father from the grave? [05:10] Byaku     Count Malta was the one who ordered us      to use the late Count Bordeaux. [05:17] Charlotte     If... If only I hadn't done that, then... [05:23] Angeline     What would my dad do     in a situation like this? [05:28] Angeline     I doubt he'd be so quick to forgive them, [05:31] Angeline     but I don't think he'd be     too hard on a child, either. [05:42] Angeline     You're pretty badly hurt. [05:44] Charlotte     Some people beat me for being a liar      when I returned their money. [05:49] Charlotte     Byaku always comes to my rescue, but still... [05:57] Angeline     I can't leave you unsupervised,     and I have lots of questions. [06:02] Angeline     You should stay the night here. [06:05] Byaku     We might kill you in your sleep. [06:09] Angeline     You think you can kill me? [06:15] Angeline     Your pretty hair is in shambles. [06:20] Angeline     I'll take you to the baths tomorrow. [06:22] Charlotte     What? But... [06:24] Angeline     I haven't forgiven you.     Just until we reach Bordeaux... [06:28] Angeline     Hey. [06:30] Byaku     What? [06:31] Angeline     You can teleport, right? [06:34] Byaku     That was a borrowed spell. [06:36] Byaku     Now that I've broken away from them,      I can't cast it anymore. [06:41] Angeline     Seriously? That sure makes you useless. [06:44] Byaku     Well, excuse me. [06:45] Angeline     No matter. I'll protect you     until we reach Bordeaux. [06:50] Angeline     So you can make proper amends. [06:53] Charlotte     I will! [07:02] Marguerite     How dare you feign composure! [07:04] Marguerite     You'll regret underestimating me! [07:07] Graham     So she doesn't understand... [07:17] Marguerite     Have it your way. I'm game to keep going! [07:21] Duncan     I don't believe it! [07:23] Graham     What are you two doing here? [07:25] Duncan     The whole night went by, so we thought     something might've happened. [07:29] Graham     I see. It's been that long already? [07:32] Graham     The warped space must affect     the passage of time, too. [07:36] Belgrieve     What's going on here? [07:40] Duncan     Lady Marguerite! [07:41] Duncan     We've got to help her! [07:43] Graham     No, she must learn this for herself. [07:46] Graham     Don't worry. That thing is not     strong enough to kill her. [07:51] Belgrieve     Is the child a demon king? [07:54] Belgrieve     I must say I don't sense any      malice or hostility from it. [07:59] Graham     Marguerite has not realized as much. [08:03] Mit     I'm scared. [08:09] Marguerite     What are you doing here?! [08:11] Belgrieve     We'll talk later. Lord Graham! [08:15] Marguerite     Not yet! I can keep fighting! [08:17] Graham     Marguerite. [08:19] Graham     Be reasonable. [08:31] Belgrieve     We should retreat.     There's no point in further fighting. [08:34] Graham     Did you figure something out? [08:36] Belgrieve     The little guy's just a scared child. [08:39] Belgrieve     He's only trying to protect himself.     Nothing more. [08:43] Graham     Hm, I thought so. [08:45] Belgrieve     Duncan, we're leaving. [08:46] Duncan     Got it! [08:47] Duncan     I'll bring up the rear. [08:51] Mit     So lonely... [08:57] Graham     What a troublesome girl. [09:00] Graham     I hope she learns her lesson. [09:03] Belgrieve     I've been there, Lord Graham. [09:05] Graham     I raised her and taught her to wield a sword. [09:09] Graham     She's been keen on the outside     world since she was a child, [09:13] Graham     always wanting to hear my stories. [09:15] Graham     We elves care little for      ourselves as individuals, [09:19] Graham     and yet it would seem that     Marguerite seeks personal recognition. [09:26] Graham     However, elves that leave the     forest live solitary lives. [09:30] Graham     Even if they return, it takes time     for them to be accepted again. [09:35] Graham     I know this because I experienced it myself. [09:38] Marguerite     That's why I keep telling you to      mind your own business, Granduncle! [09:42] Graham     You're awake. How are you feeling? [09:44] Marguerite     Are you satisfied now that this      has turned out like you wanted? [09:49] Graham     Why must you always be so cynical? [09:52] Graham     Your inconsiderate behavior will— [09:54] Marguerite     I've had enough of your lectures! [09:58] Duncan     You mustn't move about!     Your wounds haven't healed yet! [10:02] Marguerite     I bet you had your laughs at my expense, too. [10:05] Marguerite     You had a great time watching a reckless idiot      charge in and get her ass handed to her! [10:09] Graham     That's enough! [10:10] Graham     Both Mr. Duncan and Mr. Belgrieve     were worried about you. [10:15] Graham     How can anyone give you     the recognition you crave [10:18] Graham     when you keep pushing everyone away? [10:24] Duncan     Lady Marguerite! [10:25] Graham     Let her go, Mr. Duncan. [10:28] Graham     What a foolish girl. [10:33] Graham     Mr. Belgrieve? [10:34] Belgrieve     I have a daughter of my own,      so I understand how you feel. [10:39] Belgrieve     You're just as angry at yourself deep down. [10:43] Graham     But... [10:44] Belgrieve     Sometimes we dig our heels in     when it comes to the people we love. [10:48] Belgrieve     How about leaving this one to me? [10:52] Graham     I appreciate it. [11:01] Marguerite     What do you want? I don't need your pity. [11:04] Belgrieve     That's not why I'm here.     I thought we could talk a little. [11:10] Marguerite     I have nothing to say to you. [11:12] Belgrieve     I'm a humble swordsman myself. [11:14] Belgrieve     I respect your incredible skill with a blade. [11:17] Marguerite     I'm only eighteen.     You don't have to be so polite with me. [11:21] Belgrieve     Is that so? Then perhaps      I'll speak a bit more freely. [11:28] Marguerite     You taught your daughter to use a sword? [11:30] Marguerite     Are you good enough for that? [11:32] Belgrieve     No. My daughter was just naturally gifted.     Like you, I'd say. [11:38] Belgrieve     Even without Lord Graham's instruction,     you would've been a fabulous fighter. [11:44] Marguerite     Don't get it twisted. I won't deny my talent, [11:47] Marguerite     but I'm only this strong because      my granduncle was my mentor. [11:51] Marguerite     If she'd trained with him,     your daughter would be even stronger, too. [11:56] Belgrieve     I see. It sounds like you hold     Lord Graham in high esteem. [12:03] Belgrieve     I used to be an adventurer, too. [12:07] Belgrieve     I had hopes, dreams, and confidence. [12:11] Belgrieve     I never doubted I'd realize      my vision of the future, [12:15] Belgrieve     so I think I know how you feel. [12:18] Belgrieve     But look at where all that got me. [12:23] Belgrieve     You loved hearing the tales of     Graham's travels, didn't you? [12:28] Marguerite     Yeah. [12:31] Belgrieve     Well, let's return to the house.     You must be hungry. [12:35] Marguerite     Yeah. [12:43] Marguerite     Um, I... [12:45] Graham     Mary, I was too harsh. I'm sorry. [12:48] Marguerite     Yeah, I... I'm sorry too. [13:07] Charlotte     Mother... [13:10] Angeline     There's nothing motherly about me. [13:16] Charlotte     G-Good morning! [13:17] Charlotte     I-It's just been a long since      I've slept in a proper bed, so I... [13:20] Angeline     I'm not going to eat you. [13:24] Angeline     Let's get some breakfast. And you! [13:28] Byaku     I'm awake. What do you want? [13:30] Angeline     Give me a hand.      We'll hit the guild after we eat. [13:34] Byaku     We once got into a fight     with the local guild master. [13:44] Angeline     Don't worry. I'm here with you. [13:47] Charlotte     Okay. [13:51] Angeline     Can I call you Char? [13:52] Charlotte     What? Oh, that's fine. [13:54] Angeline     And you can think of me as your big sister. [13:57] Charlotte     Um, my big sister? [14:01] Angeline     You can call me that, too. [14:03] Byaku     You can't be serious. [14:06] Lionel     I see... [14:09] Anessa     Good morning, Ange. [14:10] Angeline     Hey. [14:11] Anessa     Who are they? [14:12] Lionel     I, for one, definitely recognize those two... [14:16] Anessa     What? [14:17] Angeline     I'd actually like to talk     to you about something. [14:23] Lionel     I see. [14:25] Lionel     The Inquisition, huh? [14:27] Lionel     I'd heard rumors,     but I can't believe they actually exist. [14:31] Lionel     I hope this doesn't get us in     hot water with the Holy Court. [14:35] Anessa     If that's what's up, it's safest     for you to stay with Ange. [14:39] Charlotte     But I've done lots of bad things. [14:42] Charlotte     I'm afraid I can't atone with      anything short of my life. [14:46] Angeline     Do you want to die? [14:48] Charlotte     No. [14:50] Angeline     Then don't casually speak      of forfeiting your life. [14:53] Angeline     We'll find a way for you to atone later. [14:56] Angeline     So for now, we can't allow a     mysterious organization to kill you. [15:01] Angeline     Got it? [15:03] Charlotte     Yes. [15:04] Angeline     Besides, you don't need      to worry with me around. [15:08] Angeline     Now that that's settled,     we're heading to the baths. [15:10] Angeline     You need some new clothes, too. [15:12] Miriam     What? That sounds fun. [15:14] Miriam     Can I come with? [15:16] Anessa     You just want to dress her up like a doll. [15:20] Angeline     You can help, but as her sister,     I won't allow you to treat her like a toy. [15:24] Anessa     That's not the problem here. [15:24] Miriam     I wouldn't dream of doing that! [15:41] Belgrieve     You're in a good mood. [15:44] Marguerite     I've always wanted to have a     boisterous time with a crowd. [15:48] Belgrieve     Elves don't throw parties? [15:50] Marguerite     We do, but everyone's so stiff and stuffy. [15:55] Marguerite     I bet my granduncle really enjoyed it, too. [15:59] Marguerite     Thanks for the invitation, Bel. [16:01] Belgrieve     We're just glad you could come. [16:05] Belgrieve     Thanks, Mary. [16:16] Marguerite     Welcome back. How'd it go? [16:19] Belgrieve     Something's not right. [16:21] Belgrieve     The animals are unsettled. [16:23] Duncan     They're frozen to the     spot and refuse to move. [16:26] Graham     It's because the flow of the     forest's mana has changed. [16:29] Graham     There must be something afoot. [16:32] Belgrieve     You think so, too? [16:34] Marguerite     In that case, I'll go check it out. [16:37] Belgrieve     I'll go with you. [16:38] Duncan     In that case, so will I. [16:40] Belgrieve     Actually, I'd like you to watch the town. [16:43] Belgrieve     We'll be in trouble if monsters     show up while we were gone. [16:46] Belgrieve     Lord Graham isn't feeling well. [16:48] Graham     I apologize for my foolishness. [16:51] Duncan     You couldn't refuse any drinks      because you wanted [16:54] Duncan     to dispel the townsfolk's     prejudices toward elves, right? [16:59] Duncan     I'll defend the village. [17:01] Duncan     I hope you two can figure     out what's causing this. [17:05] Belgrieve     Shall we, Mary? [17:07] Marguerite     Yeah. [17:12] Marguerite     Tch... This mana gives me the creeps. [17:15] Marguerite     This is why I can't stand demon kings. [17:17] Belgrieve     Yeah, this miasma is dreadful. [17:30] Belgrieve     What happened? [17:35] Marguerite     The source of all this is dying,     but the forest is getting worse. [17:40] Marguerite     I don't get it. [17:41] Belgrieve     We don't know if he's causing it. [17:43] Belgrieve     Mary, is this child's mana     similar to a demon king's? [17:47] Marguerite     It's not just similar. [17:49] Marguerite     That thing is a demon king. [18:02] Marguerite     Yuck. What is that? [18:04] Belgrieve     Looks like an amalgamation of monsters. [18:06] Marguerite     Is that even possible? [18:08] Belgrieve     It happens on rare occasion     in high-rank dungeons, [18:11] Belgrieve     but this is my first time seeing it. [18:20] Mit     I'm scared... I'm scared... [18:24] Marguerite     That creepy thing is     absorbing the kid's mana. [18:27] Marguerite     It must be the problem! [18:30] Belgrieve     Look alive. [18:31] Belgrieve     It must have a core somewhere. [18:32] Marguerite     A core? What's it look like? [18:35] Belgrieve     I don't know, [18:36] Belgrieve     but its body should be formed around it. [18:39] Belgrieve     Trace the regeneration back to the core. [18:42] Marguerite     I see. Then I'll find it with a swift attack! [18:56] Belgrieve     Don't die on me. [19:05] Marguerite     There it is! [19:17] Belgrieve     Who lets their guard down     on the battlefield?! [19:27] Marguerite     You got this wound protecting me... [19:31] Belgrieve     Don't worry about it. It's not serious. [19:34] Marguerite     How can I fight like my granduncle? [19:39] Belgrieve     Well, a moment's decision can spell     life or death for an adventurer. [19:45] Belgrieve     So you must never lose your cool. [19:48] Belgrieve     Always keep a second version of yourself     behind you to observe your every move. [19:53] Belgrieve     I take great care to do that. [20:03] Marguerite     It's still alive? I'll kill it this time! [20:06] Belgrieve     There's no end to it. [20:07] Belgrieve     We have the kid with us. We should flee. [20:09] Marguerite     But... [20:19] Marguerite     Can we evade it to the bitter end? [20:21] Marguerite     No, I'll defend our rear until we can escape! [20:27] Marguerite     Granduncle... [20:29] Graham     Well done, Mary. A commendable effort. [20:32] Graham     Bel, I'm sorry for the trouble. [20:35] Belgrieve     How are you feeling? [20:39] Graham     Not bad. [20:49] Graham     I've gotten old. One swing,     and I'm out of breath. [20:54] Belgrieve     And yet you're still exceptional. [20:56] Belgrieve     You completely cleared that dreadful miasma. [20:59] Belgrieve     Thank you, Lord Graham. [21:11] Belgrieve     Now, now. That's not food. [21:14] Duncan     Who's the kid? [21:16] Graham     His body is almost completely human, [21:19] Graham     but the mana within him closely     resembles a demon king's. [21:23] Graham     He doesn't have much     at the moment, though. [21:28] Duncan     Sounds like the situation     isn't very dire after all. [21:33] Graham     Indeed. [21:34] Marguerite     So, what are we going to do with him? [21:36] Belgrieve     We can't throw him out now. I'll raise him. [21:42] Marguerite     But he's a demon king! [21:44] Belgrieve     I don't think he's dangerous. [21:49] Marguerite     Well, this is your home.     The decision is yours to make. [21:54] Belgrieve     Thanks, I appreciate it. [21:56] Belgrieve     That just leaves what Ange will think... [21:59] Belgrieve     But it is what it is. [03:50] Angeline     You don't have to fight anymore. [03:56] Angeline     Shall we get lunch? [03:57] Char     Yeah! Byaku, what do you want to eat? [04:02] Byaku     Pick whatever you want. [04:05] Char     Jeez! Sister, Byaku's still sulking. [04:10] Byaku     She's completely domesticated you. [04:14] Angeline     Isn't this fun? [04:21] Angeline     Granny Maria! [04:23] Angeline     Mind if we sit here? [04:26] Maria     Keep it down, will you? [04:28] Angeline     You don't often come into town.      What's the occasion? [04:33] Maria     I needed some ingredients. [04:36] Maria     Who're the kids? [04:38] Angeline     My little sister and brother. [04:40] Maria     What? [04:41] Angeline     I'm kidding. They're staying     with me for certain reasons. [04:45] Angeline     The girl is Charlotte, and the boy is Byaku. [04:49] Angeline     Come on, say hello. [04:53] Maria     The girl's got a lot of mana. [04:56] Maria     The boy's has a strange quality to it. [04:59] Maria     Who are you? [05:01] Byaku     Who knows? [05:03] Maria     Impudent little brat. [05:06] Maria     Well, try not to cast too many magic circles. [05:11] Byaku     I'm protecting myself from surprise attacks. [05:14] Maria     Including a blinding effect in     automatic defenses isn't half bad. [05:18] Maria     But I know you can do better. [05:22] Byaku     Mind your own business. [05:28] Maria     The circle on your left is flat,     but the one to your right is spherical. [05:35] Maria     You could cast a triangular     pyramid or cube on top of that. [05:39] Maria     And not just the edges of one, either. [05:41] Maria     If you don't box it in,     people will sense your mana. [05:46] Angeline     Say, Granny, do you think you      could teach Char some spells? [05:51] Maria     What? [05:53] Maria     Just having mana doesn't      mean you have talent. [05:57] Maria     I'd need to see what she's capable of. [06:00] Angeline     Could you show her magic for self-defense? [06:04] Maria     I'm a tough teacher. [06:06] Maria     I don't like half-hearted students. [06:10] Angeline     Then it's a deal! [06:28] Angeline     What's the matter? [06:30] Char     I'm not sure I should be having so much     fun after the terrible things I did. [06:37] Angeline     Don't worry about it. [06:39] Angeline     Life is full of joy. [06:42] Char     Thank you, sister. [06:45] Man 1     You con artists! [06:47] Man 2     How dare you show your faces here! [06:51] Char     I-I'm sorry... [06:53] Man 3     Solomon, my ass! You tricked us! [06:55] Man 3     How're you gonna make up for it? [06:58] Byaku     We've already returned your money.     Why are you still bothering us? [07:02] Man 1     Scum! You're not sorry at all. [07:06] Man 1     What? Mind your own business! [07:09] Angeline     I won't say they did nothing wrong, [07:12] Angeline     but adults should not find fault with      repentant kids and bully them. [07:20] Man 1     Who do you think you're talking to, broad? [07:22] Rosetta     What's the meaning of this? [07:25] Rosetta     Aren't you ashamed to treat children so? [07:28] Rosetta     Lady Vienna would be     saddened by your behavior. [07:32] Man 2     What'd you say? [07:33] Man 3     Hey, we really shouldn't pick a fight     with a sister of the Vienna cult. [07:38] Rosetta     Now then, let us be off. [07:41] Angeline     Let's go, Char. [07:44] Angeline     Thank you, Ms. Rosetta. [07:46] Rosetta     I'm just glad they didn't try to hurt you. [07:49] Rosetta     Who do we have here? [07:53] Angeline     This is Charlotte, and this is Byaku. [07:56] Angeline     They're staying with me for reasons. [07:58] Rosetta     I'm Rosetta. [08:00] Rosetta     I'm a sister at the nearby church orphanage. [08:07] Rosetta     Do they not like me? [08:10] Angeline     You can't be rude now, Char. She helped us. [08:15] Angeline     Besides, Ms. Rosetta is one     of my potential mothers. [08:19] Rosetta     You're still going on about that? [08:21] Angeline     I'm serious. [08:23] Rosetta     Sheesh. [08:25] Char     You shouldn't be associating with     a sister of the Vienna cult. [08:30] Rosetta     Sounds like you had a bad experience. [08:32] Rosetta     Would you be willing to tell me about it? [08:35] Char     I have nothing to say. [08:38] Rosetta     The goddess's love illuminates the land. [08:41] Rosetta     Guiding the lost is one     of our responsibilities. [08:45] Char     Love?! If you were about love,     my parents wouldn't have been killed! [08:58] Rosetta     That must've been hard. [09:00] Char     I don't need pity from     a sister of the Vienna cult. [09:04] Rosetta     Some clergy use their status     and influence to do bad things. [09:11] Rosetta     But there are also those who devoutly     offer prayers and live tranquil lives. [09:17] Rosetta     The goddess doesn't abandon     people like that. [09:20] Char     Liar! [09:22] Char     Day in and day out, we prayed,      attended services, [09:25] Char     and gave thanks for our good fortune! [09:28] Char     So why didn't the goddess save      my mother and father?! [09:34] Char     Why? Why?! [09:41] Soldier     Where do you think you're going? [09:44] Rosetta     I'm sorry. Er, nothing's the matter. [09:47] Rosetta     We were just talking. [09:49] Soldier     That won't do. [09:51] Soldier     Bad children must be punished— [09:54] Soldier     Must... be killed. [10:06] Angeline     Oh, no! [10:08] Soldier     Bad children... [10:11] Char     Wh-Why... [10:13] Rosetta     Thank goodness... [10:17] Angeline     Ms. Rosetta! [10:18] Angeline     Damn! I didn't sense his presence at all. [10:21] Angeline     I've been a fool. [10:27] Byaku     Get a grip. [10:36] Char     This... This is all my fault. [10:38] Angeline     Pull yourself together, Char. [10:42] Angeline     Byaku, they're just being controlled. [10:46] Angeline     Don't kill them. [10:48] Byaku     Quit wasting time. Get out of here already. [10:51] Angeline     You're coming with us. [10:53] Byaku     What? [10:54] Angeline     I'll protect you. You don't     have to fight anymore. [10:57] Angeline     Take Char with you. [11:01] Angeline     I need medicine! Quickly! [11:04] Assistant     Very well. Take her to the infirmary. [11:06] Assistant     Someone bring a stretcher! [11:11] Mob     What are you doing? [11:12] Mob     Soldiers have no business here! [11:22] Adventurer A     What's wrong with them? [11:24] Adventurer B     Something's not right. [11:26] Angeline     They're just being controlled.     Don't kill them. [11:29] Adventurer C     Don't be ridiculous! [11:31] Yuri     What's happened? [11:33] Angeline     Ms. Yuri. [11:35] Angeline     Could you disable them? [11:38] Angeline     I'll look for whoever's controlling them. [11:50] Yuri     That's what you wanted, right? [11:52] Angeline     Exactly. [12:01] Angeline     I told you, you don't need to fight! [12:04] Byaku     I'm not letting you protect me. [12:06] Yuri     Ange, you need to find the caster quickly. [12:09] Angeline     That's right. [12:19] Angeline     They're up above. [12:29] Caster     Lady Vienna, protect us from evil... [12:35] Angeline     That was a nasty trick, Inquisition. [12:44] Schwartz     They're too weak to test her strength. [12:50] Schwartz     I'll try again. [13:03] Yuri     We were able to stop Ms. Rosetta's bleeding. [13:06] Yuri     She should be fine with rest now. [13:09] Angeline     Good. [13:11] Yuri     That wasn't easy, you know? [13:13] Angeline     Thank you for your help earlier, Ms. Yuri. [13:17] Yuri     Don't mention it. We help each     other out when we're in need. [13:23] Angeline     I'm going to cool my head. [13:26] Angeline     Could you hold down the fort? [13:29] Yuri     Sure. Don't be too hard on yourself. [13:31] Angeline     Thanks. [13:37] Angeline     And here I thought I'd become     more like my dad... [13:42] Byaku     Pathetic. [13:45] Byaku     You even boasted we'd be safe with you, too. [13:49] Angeline     I'm sorry. [13:52] Byaku     What the? It creeps me out     when you don't put up a fight. [13:56] Angeline     I let myself get carried away. [13:59] Angeline     I hadn't truly considered what     it means to protect someone. [14:05] Angeline     What should I have done? [14:10] Byaku     You're just like that kid. [14:13] Angeline     What did you say? [14:14] Byaku     You keep saying it's your fault. [14:17] Byaku     Shouldering all the responsibility [14:20] Byaku     like the heroine of some     tragedy must feel nice. [14:24] Angeline     That's not my intention. [14:25] Byaku     If you ask me, your wishy-washy     behavior is no different. [14:30] Byaku     This is even worse than the irritating     way you were acting before. [14:34] Angeline     But because I got swept up in— [14:37] Byaku     Wait. [14:44] Angeline     It's one of them! [14:53] Shadow     Insects... Kill... [15:02] Angeline     Run! [15:04] Shadow     In my way... [15:11] Angeline     You don't have to fight. I'll protect you. [15:20] Angeline     Come at me! [15:29] Byaku     Hey, knock that off! [15:31] Byaku     You think you can beat it     fighting so recklessly? [15:34] Angeline     Shut up! [15:36] Angeline     I won't fail again. [15:39] Angeline     I'll protect everyone! [15:42] Byaku     So suicidally taking on all the burden      is how you protect people? [15:47] Byaku     I've had enough of your vanity! [15:57] Angeline     Screw this. [16:00] Byaku     Do you have a death wish?! [16:03] Angeline     Are you saying I was wrong?! [16:05] Byaku     What are you talking about?! [16:08] Byaku     Just take a look at yourself     after lecturing me! [16:12] Angeline     But... [16:22] Angeline     Byaku! [16:44] Angeline     No. At this rate... [16:47] (Flashback) Belgrieve     Ange, if you want to become an adventurer, [16:51] (Flashback) Belgrieve     you must learn to view yourself objectively. [16:56] Angeline     What am I doing? [16:58] Angeline     I kept saying I'd protect them,     but I was blind. [17:03] Angeline     I failed to objectively see     how overexcited I was. [17:08] Angeline     It's not feinting.     Its movements are straightforward. [17:12] Angeline     Compared to my dad,     it's hardly a challenging opponent. [17:30] Angeline     Byaku, let me handle the rest. [17:32] Byaku     Don't you call me that. [17:40] Angeline     Come on. I'll play with you. [17:45] Angeline     Oh, right. I had trouble     cutting the last one, too. [18:21] Angeline     How was that? [18:23] Angeline     Your big sister took care of business, huh? [18:37] Schwartz     Interesting. I could leave     her be for a while, I see. [18:48] Schwartz     Well, well... [18:50] Maria     You should be dead. [18:53] Schwartz     The Great Gray Mage must have grown foolish. [18:57] Maria     Who's the fool, scumbag? [18:59] Maria     This is my turf. [19:03] Schwartz     You seem unwell. Can you finish     me in your current state? [19:09] Maria     Silence! [19:18] Schwartz     Have you lost your touch, Maria? [19:19] Maria     That was just a test! Don't get cocky! [19:31] Schwartz     Black is night, silver is blood. [19:33] Schwartz     Wavering flame and illuminating     moonlight color all things... [19:47] Maria     He fled. [19:49] Maria     Now that I know he's involved,     I can't ignore this. [19:54] Maria     It's a pain, but I'll look into it. [20:04] Angeline     Ms. Rosetta! [20:06] Rosetta     Where am I? [20:07] Rosetta     Ow... [20:09] Angeline     Don't strain yourself. You're badly injured. [20:11] Rosetta     Ange, how is the girl? [20:17] Rosetta     I'm glad you're all right. [20:20] Char     You... You dummy! [20:22] Char     Why'd you do that after     I said such cruel things? [20:27] Rosetta     I wouldn't know. I'm a dummy, after all. [20:31] Rosetta     I'm just so glad you're all right. [20:34] Char     I'm sorry. Thank you for saving me. [20:50] Mit     Duncan, beard. [20:51] Duncan     Now, now. My beard isn't a toy. [20:55] Mit     Grandpa, up. [20:59] Belgrieve     He's really taken a liking to you. [21:01] Marguerite     The villagers have accepted him, too. [21:05] Belgrieve     Probably because of Ange. [21:08] Duncan     Kids are cute, aren't they? [21:11] Belgrieve     Yeah. [21:12] Marguerite     Hey, Bel, you ever think     about getting hitched? [21:16] Belgrieve     Hitched? I don't have anyone to marry. [21:20] Marguerite     You've never been in love? [21:24] Belgrieve     No. [21:33] Marguerite     What's with that smile?! [21:35] Marguerite     Are you in love with someone? [21:37] Duncan     What?! You have a sweetheart? [21:39] Belgrieve     Uh... [21:40] Duncan     If there's anything I can do to      thank you for letting me stay here... [21:44] Belgrieve     What? [21:45] Marguerite     No way. There's nothing a dolt     like you can do to help. [21:49] Duncan     Lady Mary, you're just as     much of a dolt as I am! [21:53] Marguerite     What was that? Say that again! [21:57] Belgrieve     Percy, Kasim, and Satie... [22:01] Belgrieve     I wonder what they're up to now. [02:10] Maria     You can't even dodge that? [02:12] Byaku     Shut up! [02:17] Maria     Hey, that's the demon king's power. [02:26] Maria     Don't go relying on that. [02:28] Maria     Use too much and it'll consume you. [02:30] Byaku     Damn it... [02:38] Maria     That's better. Focus on your     body's mana-generating organ. [02:43] Maria     Separate your mana from the demon king's. [02:47] Angeline     Granny... [02:49] Char     Byaku, are you okay? [02:51] Byaku     Come at me again, you old hag.     I've got the hang of it now. [02:54] Maria     What? How dare you call      a spring chicken a hag?! [03:03] Maria     We'll have to fix that cheeky mouth of     yours before we address your mana. [03:05] Angeline     Are you scared to fight? [03:07] Char     Yes. [03:09] Char     I felt like I could do anything     when I was using Solomon's power, [03:13] Maria     Go on, say it. "Please, miss, would     you do me the favor of another round?" [03:15] Char     but now I'm powerless. [03:19] Byaku     Shut up, hag! [03:22] Angeline     But there's no telling what may happen. [03:22] Maria     You fool! [03:25] Maria     I told you not to use that mana! [03:25] Angeline     You should learn to use magic, too. [03:27] Maria     Don't let your emotions control you, brat. [03:29] Char     From Granny Maria? [03:31] Byaku     Damn it! [03:32] Angeline     Well, maybe we can find someone nicer. [03:32] Maria     Weak! [03:40] Angeline     We're going back to Turnera. [03:42] Angeline     Just you wait, cowberries! [03:45] Byaku     You're a weirdo. [03:47] Angeline     Quiet, Byaku. [03:49] Angeline     What's better than having a home to return to? [03:53] Byaku     You're dumb enough already, [03:55] Byaku     but you get even dumber     when it comes to your dad. [03:58] Miriam     Ange's love for Mr. Bel is powerful indeed. [04:02] Byaku     Your dad's that old redhead, right? [04:06] Byaku     What's so great about him? [04:09] Angeline     Byaku... [04:11] Angeline     You'll understand once you meet him. [04:15] Char     That's right. I know you've heard     all her stories about him. [04:19] Char     And his hands are so warm! [04:22] Byaku     You only met him for a second. [04:24] Char     Well, he saved me. [04:27] Byaku     Yeah, after you attacked him. [04:28] Angeline     There are fewer occasions to fight in Turnera. [04:30] Char     Byaku! [04:31] Angeline     Byaku won't have to use mana     he hasn't mastered yet. [04:32] Byaku     Anyway, you've gotten too soft recently. [04:35] Char     But warm hands are a sign of kindness! [04:36] Angeline     And Char will be safer there, too. [04:39] Char     You just don't get it. [04:42] Angeline     And I'll get plenty of time with     my dad. It's the perfect plan. [04:48] Angeline     I'm so smart, it's scary. [04:49] Byaku     Hey, Anessa. [04:51] Anessa     What is it, Byaku? [04:52] Byaku     Do you want to go see her dad, too? [04:55] Anessa     Well, I'll say being around     Mr. Bel makes me feel safe. [05:06] Messenger     I've delivered your letter. [05:09] Messenger     Don't think you can trick us. [05:16] Lionel     This is awful... What terrible timing. [05:20] Dortos     You can no longer pretend     to be ignorant, Lionel. [05:25] Lionel     Hasn't Ms. Ange already left? [05:28] Lionel     If only this had come sooner... [05:40] Graham     It rarely rains this time     of year in the north. [05:42] Graham     I hope nothing bad happens. [05:45] Belgrieve     Come now, Graham. Don't jinx us. [05:50] Belgrieve     You make it sound like something really will. [05:53] Graham     Forgive me, Bel. Bad habit. [05:56] Mit     Gramps in trouble? [05:59] Graham     I'm no match for Bel. [06:01] Marguerite     Hey! Food's ready! [06:05] Marguerite     It'll be difficult to leave Turnera     once winter arrives, right? [06:10] Belgrieve     Yeah. We get a lot of snow here, [06:14] Belgrieve     though I doubt as much as the elven lands. [06:16] Belgrieve     It'll still be tough to leave. [06:19] Marguerite     I see. [06:21] Marguerite     I'm thinking setting out before then. [06:26] Graham     Where will you go? [06:29] Marguerite     South. Turnera is nice, [06:32] Marguerite     but I still want to become     an adventurer like you. [06:36] Marguerite     I want to see all sorts of places. [06:38] Graham     I doubt I can stop you. [06:40] Mit     Mary leaving? [06:42] Marguerite     Yeah, but not forever. [06:45] Marguerite     I swear I'll become a first-rate     adventurer and come back here. [06:49] Duncan     To tell you the truth... [06:51] Duncan     I've been thinking about leaving town myself. [06:55] Belgrieve     You, too? [06:57] Duncan     I still have a few more people     I'd like to face. [07:02] Belgrieve     Well, no helping that. [07:04] Belgrieve     But what about Hannah? [07:07] Duncan     We've already discussed it. [07:09] Duncan     This will be my last tour. [07:12] Graham     Then you'll be returning as well? [07:15] Belgrieve     Don't keep us waiting too long. [07:18] Duncan     I won't. [07:20] Marguerite     What's all this?     I underestimated you, Duncan. [07:24] Marguerite     So, know when you're heading out? [07:26] Duncan     Yeah, after the fall festival. [07:29] Marguerite     Then you're staying longer than me. [07:31] Belgrieve     Mary, you should stay for the festival, too. [07:35] Marguerite     What? Why? [07:37] Belgrieve     Lots of caravans and merchants will be coming. [07:40] Belgrieve     You can leave with them. [07:43] Marguerite     What? No way! That sounds lame. [07:46] Marguerite     Besides, traveling alone is easier. [07:49] Belgrieve     Planning to get lost again? [07:51] Duncan     Lady Mary, adventurers should     always minimize costs and risks. [07:57] Graham     Duncan is right. [08:01] Marguerite     I'll do what I can. [08:02] Mit     Mary upset? [08:06] Marguerite     Don't laugh! [08:07] Belgrieve     I've gotten used to how     lively things are here now. [08:10] Marguerite     I've given this a lot of thought, okay? [08:12] Belgrieve     I'll miss them both when they're gone. [08:21] Angeline     Say that again! [08:23] Lionel     Y-You see, Ms. Ange, this is coming     from Grand Duke Estogal, not us. [08:29] Angeline     Don't be ridiculous! [08:30] Angeline     I don't care if he's a grand duke. [08:33] Angeline     He has no right to order me anywhere! [08:36] Dortos     Ange, calm down. [08:39] Dortos     This is not Lionel's fault. [08:42] Angeline     If I go to Estogal now,      it'll be winter before you know it. [08:45] Angeline     Then I won't be able to     make it back to Turnera. [08:48] Angeline     In any case, I'm not going. [08:50] Angeline     I don't care about balls or honors. [08:52] Lionel     I'm begging you, Ms. Ange! [08:55] Lionel     We're screwed if we end up on     Grand Duke Estogal's bad side! [08:59] Angeline     Whatever. I'm sure they'll be     satisfied giving you the axe. [09:03] Lionel     They will literally, you hear me? [09:06] Lionel     I don't want to die yet! [09:09] Angeline     Uncle Silver and General Muscles,     are you on his side? [09:13] Dortos     That letter was addressed to the guild     with instructions to send you to Estogal. [09:19] Dortos     This isn't just your problem anymore, Ange. [09:25] Cheborg     Oh, come on! I can't believe the two of you. [09:28] Cheborg     We should reject their damn request. [09:32] Lionel     Mr. Cheborg? [09:34] Cheborg     If they come bother us,     we can just crush 'em then. [09:39] Cheborg     Who cares if he's a grand duke? [09:41] Cheborg     A buncha wimps working together can't beat us. [09:45] Lionel     We can't do that! Right, Mr. Dortos?! [09:49] Dortos     Actually, with the right perspective,      it's an option. [09:52] Dortos     You've got me and Cheborg.     If we could convince Maria to join us... [09:56] Lionel     Absolutely not! Do you want to turn     Orphen into a war zone? [10:00] Lionel     Besides, Mr. Cheborg, isn't the     duke's place your old stomping ground?! [10:07] Angeline     I should just go, right? [10:10] Lionel     M-Ms. Ange? [10:13] Angeline     Fighting a duke's army sounds fun,     but Dad would get angry at me. [10:23] Cheborg     Goodness gracious.     She's finally grown up, hasn't she? [10:27] Dortos     Without a doubt. It's bittersweet. [10:32] Dortos     Anyway, I don't like what     Grand Duke Estogal is doing. [10:35] Lionel     Now that I agree with. [10:38] Lionel     I sense a political motive behind honoring     her now for defeating that demon king. [10:44] Lionel     Still, I'm glad Ms. Ange has calmed down. [10:47] Lionel     I'm sorry for making you two play my stooges. [10:55] Lionel     Wait... wasn't that all an act     to make her change her mind? [11:01] Lionel     Come on, say something! [11:03] Lionel     Why won't you look at me?! [11:11] Char     Wh-What's wrong, Sister? [11:14] Angeline     I don't know what to do. [11:16] Byaku     What's got you upset? [11:18] Angeline     Our trip to Turnera's postponed. [11:21] Char     Wh-Why? [11:31] Anessa     I see. [11:32] Anessa     So that's why you're here. [11:34] Miriam     Seriously?! This noble's just being selfish! [11:37] Miriam     You defeated that demon king a year ago, [11:40] Miriam     and he wants to honor you now? [11:42] Miriam     Right, Ane? [11:44] Anessa     Yeah, but you can't stand up a grand duke. [11:48] Angeline     So Dad and the cowberries will have to wait. [11:54] Miriam     But I wanted to see Mr. Bel... [11:57] Anessa     So, what are your plans for now? [12:00] Angeline     It takes two weeks to reach      Estogal CIty by carriage. [12:05] Angeline     So a whole month to get there and back. [12:07] Anessa     You won't be leaving as soon      as you get there, you know? [12:11] Anessa     They'll keep you for several days, at least. [12:13] Angeline     I know. That's why I wanted     to ask you about these two. [12:17] Angeline     I thought maybe I could take them      if you guys came, too. [12:23] Miriam     I get it. You'll be super busy over there. [12:28] Angeline     Yeah, and I can't protect them alone. [12:32] Angeline     I let Ms. Rosetta get hurt the other day. [12:35] Anessa     Then aren't they better off      staying here with us? [12:41] Anessa     Only if you wouldn't miss us, that is. [12:44] Angeline     Of course not. Who do you take me for? [12:48] Miriam     I know! Why don't Ane and     I take Char and Byaku to Turnera? [12:55] Miriam     Then all our prep won't go to waste,      and we'll get to see Mr. Bel! [13:02] Angeline     Don't go without me! [13:05] Angeline     No! Don't do it! [13:07] Miriam     Sorry, sorry! I was only kidding! [13:10] Miriam     We obviously wouldn't go     to Turnera without you. [13:13] Miriam     There, there. That's a good girl. [13:15] Angeline     No! [13:16] Char     Sister... [13:17] Anessa     Miri, how could you? [13:20] Miriam     I-I'm sorry, okay? I didn't think she'd cry! [13:27] Angeline     Well then, you're all staying here in     Orphen while I head out solo. [13:32] Anessa     That's the best choice. [13:34] Anessa     Without constraints,     you can leave as soon as you're done. [13:37] Angeline     Thanks. I appreciate all of this,      you two. Also... [13:41] Angeline     Don't even think about     sneaking off to Turnera. [13:45] Angeline     Got it, Miri? [13:48] Miriam     I said I was joking. [13:51] Anessa     Are you two okay with that, too? [13:53] Char     Y-Yes! [13:55] Anessa     Then you'll be staying with us.     Sorry the place is a mess. [14:00] Char     I-I'll help you clean, Ane. [14:03] Anessa     Thanks. [14:05] Anessa     So, when do you depart, Ange? [14:08] Angeline     Tomorrow. I'm already packed anyway. [14:11] Miriam     Okay. The sun's long set,     so let's hit to our usual spot. [14:15] Miriam     We're gonna eat tonight! [14:18] Angeline     Your treat, Miri? [14:20] Miriam     S-So be it. [14:30] Graham     That's enough for now. [14:32] Belgrieve     Sure. Thanks for helping me, Graham. [14:39] Belgrieve     This isn't good. I can't focus. [14:46] Belgrieve     Why am I dreaming about that now? [14:50] Marguerite     All right! [14:52] Marguerite     I landed a hit! [14:53] Marguerite     Did you see that, Granduncle?! [14:55] Graham     I did. Nicely done. [14:58] Duncan     I know when I'm beaten. [14:59] Duncan     You've gotten stronger, Lady Mary. [15:04] Belgrieve     I'm impressed, Mary. [15:06] Belgrieve     Now I won't have to worry     about you leaving Turnera. [15:17] Shopkeeper     We have a winner. [15:19] Shopkeeper     Congratulations, Miss Elf. [15:21] Marguerite     Is this for me? Thanks. [15:25] Marguerite     How's it look, Mit? [15:27] Mit     Good? [15:30] Marguerite     He gave that meat to me, you know. [15:32] Marguerite     Is it tasty? [15:33] Mit     Tasty. [15:34] Belgrieve     Hey, Mary. [15:39] Belgrieve     This is the swordsman I told     you about. She's skilled. [15:43] Belgrieve     Mary, this is— [15:45] Blue-Haired Merchant     A-An elf?! [15:46] Marguerite     Huh? Who are you? [15:48] Belgrieve     Mary, I called you over to     introduce you. Don't act like that. [15:53] Belgrieve     She's a traveling merchant. [15:55] Belgrieve     Didn't I tell you we'd find someone     to give you a ride to Orphen? [16:00] Marguerite     That mean you're traveling south?     You got a carriage? [16:05] Blue-Haired Merchant     What? Yes, I do. Um... [16:08] Belgrieve     She's not the most refined,     but she's not a bad girl. [16:12] Belgrieve     I promise you'll be safer with her than     a handful of average adventurers. [16:18] Blue-Haired Merchant     Y-Yeah? Very well. [16:21] Blue-Haired Merchant     I'm departing in two days. Is that all right? [16:24] Marguerite     All right! Thanks a ton. [16:27] Marguerite     The name's Marguerite. Nice to meet you. [16:30] Belgrieve     Looks like they'll be fine. [16:38] Graham     You seem like you've got     something on your mind. [16:41] Belgrieve     You can tell, huh? [16:44] Graham     Tell me about it, my friend. [16:47] Belgrieve     Thanks. [16:48] Belgrieve     I just dreamt of the past      for the first time in a while. [16:58] Marguerite     Duncan, you look terrible! [17:01] Graham     I see. Sounds like there's     something for you to resolve. [17:06] Graham     Your worries are stuck there like a thorn. [17:10] Graham     You won't truly be able to     move on unless you remove it. [17:15] Belgrieve     You're probably right. [17:18] Belgrieve     I haven't overcome my past.     I just haven't faced it. [17:23] Belgrieve     But Mary and Duncan are leaving.      If I go, too... [17:28] Graham     You're worried about Turnera? [17:31] Belgrieve     Yes. Something could still happen. [17:36] Graham     Then I'll stay. [17:39] Belgrieve     In Turnera? [17:41] Belgrieve     I appreciate it, but are you sure? [17:43] Belgrieve     Weren't you going to keep traveling? [17:46] Graham     I was originally pursuing Marguerite.     She couldn't be trusted on her own. [17:51] Graham     But now she should be fine without me. [17:55] Belgrieve     I see. Mary has certainly grown. [17:58] Graham     Because of you, Bel.     I'd like to repay the favor. [18:03] Belgrieve     Thank you, Graham. I appreciate it. [18:07] Graham     I do have one request, however. [18:10] Graham     While you're gone, can Mit stay with me? [18:16] Belgrieve     You'd be lonely? [18:19] Mit     Lonely? [18:30] Angeline     Ms. Gil? What're you doing here? [18:31] Gilmenja     Turns out I was invited, too. [18:34] Angeline     What? Really? [18:36] Gilmenja     Just kidding. Lionel didn't tell you? [18:39] Angeline     No, he didn't... [18:41] Angeline     But he must been thinking of me      to send a Triple A adventurer. [18:49] Angeline     I feel better having you with me! [18:52] Gilmenja     I'm honored. I hope I can live     up to your expectations. [18:57] Gilmenja     Let's make it a good trip, Ange. [19:00] Angeline     Yeah! [19:02] (Flashback) Adventurer     Stay strong! [19:03] (Flashback) Adventurer     Go! [19:06] (Flashback) Adventurer     Damn! [19:07] (Flashback) Belgrieve     Over there! It's coming from the side! [19:13] (Flashback) Percival     When'd it get there? [19:15] (Flashback) Percival     Hey, did you notice it sneaking up on us? [19:17] (Flashback) Kasim     Not at all! That guy is incredible. [19:21] (Flashback) Percival     He's what our group is missing! [19:25] (Flashback) Leader     I saw you just standing around again today! [19:28] (Flashback) Belgrieve     I was getting a read on the battle. [19:30] (Flashback) Leader     Shut up! We don't tolerate     useless adventurers! [19:33] (Flashback) Leader     As of today, you're out! [19:39] (Flashback) Percival     Hey. [19:41] (Flashback) Belgrieve     Who, me? [19:42] (Flashback) Percival     Yeah. You're amazing. [19:44] (Flashback) Belgrieve     Amazing how? [19:45] (Flashback) Satie     What do you mean? You noticed     that sneak attack from our flank. [19:50] (Flashback) Belgrieve     Oh, I guess. [19:52] (Flashback) Percival     I like you. [19:53] (Flashback) Percival     Care to join our party? [19:58] (Flashback) Kasim     We'd love to have a lifesaver like you around. [20:10] (Flashback) Kasim     Will you come back?      I know it would make them happy. [20:15] (Flashback) Belgrieve     I don't want to get in your way. [20:18] (Flashback) Belgrieve     I can't even serve as a decoy like this. [20:22] (Flashback) Belgrieve     You're all rank B now.     You're nearly at the top. [20:27] (Flashback) Belgrieve     I wouldn't want to hold you back. [20:30] (Flashback) Kasim     But... But that's not... [20:33] (Flashback) Belgrieve     Don't make that face. [20:35] (Flashback) Belgrieve     All that matters is that      we're alive and well. [20:38] (Flashback) Kasim     But we— [20:40] (Flashback) Belgrieve     I'm in a hurry. [20:42] (Flashback) Belgrieve     I have to deliver these herbs to the guild. [20:48] (Flashback) Belgrieve     Take care, Kasim.     Say goodbye to the others for me. [20:54] (Flashback) Kasim     Bel! [21:00] Kasim     What a nasty dream. [21:03] Kasim     What should we have done for you, Bel? [21:26] Kasim     Once something's broken, there's no     point in putting it back together. [21:34] Kasim     You again? You'll be in trouble      if someone catches you. [21:38] Liselotte     No one will come here. Everyone's so busy. [21:42] Liselotte     They're bustling about the mansion     getting ready for the ball. [21:45] Kasim     Then you should be with your betrothed.      It's cold down here. [21:50] Liselotte     A short visit won't hurt. [21:53] Liselotte     Tell me more stories, Kasim. [21:57] Kasim     Fine. [21:59] Kasim     If you bring me another bottle. [00:17] Gilmenja     From their perspective,     they're doing us a favor by giving us work. [00:22] Angeline     I don't like that. [00:24] Angeline     I shouldn't have come after all. [00:31] Gilmenja     I'm sure there will be lots you don't like,      but try not to blow your lid. [00:37] Angeline     I'll do my best to stay positive. [00:40] Gilmenja     Well, good luck. [02:43] Villard     After I asked my father to     honor you and everything. [02:49] Angeline     Who are you? [02:52] Villard     H-How dare you speak to me like that! [02:57] Angeline     I'm from the countryside. Forgive me. [03:02] Villard     Demon king slayer or not,     you're still just an adventurer. [03:05] Villard     I can overlook a bit of impertinence. I'd be embarrassed if I had     recommended we acknowledge some fool. [03:42] Villard     Consider it an honor. [03:46] Villard     This should improve my father's opinion of me. [05:39] Angeline     Really? [05:40] Gilmenja     The grand duke's sons,     influential noble families, [05:45] Gilmenja     and even the crown prince of Rhodesia     have been invited to this event. [05:52] Angeline     Are you saying it's special? [05:54] Gilmenja     Sure am. [05:56] Gilmenja     You're getting quite the welcome, Ange. [05:59] Angeline     Well, I don't care for it. [07:11] Liselotte     Tell me about yours, Ms. Angeline. [07:14] Angeline     I used to ask my dad to tell me stories, too. [07:19] Angeline     All right. What kind of story would     you like to hear, uh, milady? [07:27] Liselotte     Wow, you're incredible. [07:30] Liselotte     You've done all kinds of things     even though you're a girl. [07:34] Angeline     Yeah. [07:36] Liselotte     This has been fun. Thank you. [07:39] Liselotte     Say, Ange, we're friends, aren't we? [07:42] Angeline     Yes. We're... friends. [07:46] Liselotte     I've always wanted an adventurer friend! [07:49] Liselotte     And since you're my friend,      I'll show you my secret. [07:53] Angeline     What? Your secret? [08:02] Angeline     So they've even got a dungeon. [08:05] Liselotte     Kasim, Kasim! [08:07] Kasim     I told you not to come here anymore. [08:11] Liselotte     Humph! [08:12] Liselotte     Should you be speaking to me like     that when I brought you alcohol? [08:18] Kasim     You brought a friend with you today? [08:20] Liselotte     Yes, this is Angeline the demon king slayer. [08:24] Kasim     Huh. So you're the Black-Haired     Valkyrie I've heard about. [08:29] Liselotte     This is Kasim. He used to be     a really strong adventurer. [08:33] Kasim     That was a long time ago. [08:35] Angeline     What are you doing down here? [08:37] Kasim     I was caught dining and dashing. [08:39] Kasim     They threw me in here when I put up a fight. [08:49] Kasim     They've got nice liquor here. [08:51] Liselotte     Sheesh! [08:53] Kasim     Don't be afraid. [08:56] Kasim     There'd be no point in fighting you. [09:01] Angeline     Don't you want to get out of here? [09:03] Angeline     You seem like a pretty powerful mage. [09:06] Kasim     Not really. I don't have     anything to do on the outside. [09:10] Angeline     What a waste. [09:11] Kasim     What is? [09:13] Angeline     It's hard to say, but looking at you makes     me feel like something's going to waste. [09:20] Kasim     You're right. I've wasted my life. [09:25] Kasim     Hey, you. You have friends, don't you? [09:29] Kasim     Take good care of them. [09:36] Liselotte     Was that something only     adventurers understand? [09:40] Angeline     Not exactly. [09:43] Angeline     I'm getting cold. Let's go, Lise. [09:50] Angeline     So much has been happening. I'm exhausted. [09:54] Angeline     I wonder what Dad is up to... [10:06] Lionel     I wonder if Ms. Ange is all right. [10:08] Lionel     I hope Gil is supporting her like she needs. [10:12] Marguerite     Hello! [10:17] Lionel     What? [10:19] Lionel     Red hair and a peg leg? [10:22] Lion     Could you be... [10:23] Belgrieve     Oh, excuse me. My name is Belgrieve. [10:27] Belgrieve     I'd like to see Angeline. [10:29] Belgrieve     Do you know where she is? [10:33] Lionel     You're... [10:35] Anessa     What? [10:35] Miriam     It's Mr. Bel! [10:37] Belgrieve     Huh? [10:39] Miriam     What brings you here? [10:40] Anessa     Good to see you again, Mr. Bel. [10:42] Belgrieve     It's good to see you two as well. [10:45] Miriam     Ange's not around. What're you doing here? [10:48] Belgrieve     What? [10:49] Lionel     I-I'm sorry! [10:53] Belgrieve     I see. She's being honored. [10:56] Lionel     I'm truly sorry. [10:59] Belgrieve     Please get up, Mr. Lionel. [11:02] Lionel     Your daughter does so much for us,     but all I do is ruin her plans. [11:09] Belgrieve     That's life. [11:10] Belgrieve     People in high places have obligations. [11:15] Belgrieve     I'm glad she didn't skip the     ceremony to return home. [11:21] Belgrieve     Thank you for telling her     what she needed to hear. [11:25] Lionel     No... I haven't done anything     to deserve your gratitude. [11:29] Marguerite     I thought the guild master would be awesome,      but he's completely worthless. [11:34] Belgrieve     Mary. [11:36] Marguerite     Sorry. [11:37] Lionel     It's fine. It's true. [11:40] Miriam     Um, could you introduce us to the elf? [11:45] Belgrieve     Oh, right. This is— [11:48] Marguerite     I'm Marguerite. Nice to meet you. [11:51] Marguerite     Call me Mary. [11:53] Miriam     I'm Miriam. Call me Miri. [11:56] Anessa     I'm Anessa. People call me Ane, but... [11:59] Anessa     Call me whatever you'd like. [12:02] Belgrieve     Mary's here to sign on as an adventurer. [12:06] Yuri     In that case, Mary, let's get     you registered over here. [12:09] Marguerite     Sure. I'll be back. [12:12] Belgrieve     Okay. [12:17] Yuri     Mr. Belgrieve! [12:19] Belgrieve     Yes? [12:20] Yuri     I'm not sure you should be having your     daughter look for a wife for you. [12:26] Belgrieve     What? [12:27] Yuri     I-I shouldn't have said anything. [12:30] Yuri     Forget I mentioned it. [12:33] Belgrieve     Look for a wife? [12:37] Anessa     Ange's, uh... [12:40] Belgrieve     What about her? [12:42] Anessa     Oh, that's right! There's someone     we should introduce you to. [12:46] Miriam     Right, right! [12:49] Belgrieve     You're that girl. We met back in Bordeaux. [12:54] Char     Um, my name is Charlotte. [12:56] Char     Thank you for saving me then. [13:00] Belgrieve     Well, I'm glad to see      you're all right. You look well. [13:10] Belgrieve     What's the matter? [13:14] Belgrieve     Uh... [13:16] Anessa     A lot has happened. [13:18] Miriam     It really has. We have so much to tell you. [13:22] Mirima     Though Ange might be cross if we did... [13:26] Belgrieve     No, I'm sure it's fine. Ange is Ange. [13:30] Belgrieve     Now, what's this about finding a wife? [13:33] Lionel     Um, excuse me. [13:34] Lionel     I don't mind if you don't mind, but perhaps     you should take this elsewhere. [13:42] Adventurer 1     Red hair and a peg leg... [13:44] Adventurer 2     Is that Belgrieve the Red Ogre? [13:47] Belgrieve     Er, maybe we should take our leave. [13:52] Lionel     You're friends with Graham the Paladin?! [13:55] Miriam     Your family's grown rather big. [13:59] Belgrieve     That's true. [14:00] Belgrieve     That reminds me...     What's this talk of finding a wife? [14:04] Miriam     Well, uh... [14:06] Anessa     I th-think you should ask Ange about that. [14:10] Belgrieve     What am I to do with that girl? [14:12] Miriam     Mr. Bel, are you not interested      in getting hitched? [14:15] Marguerite     Don't waste your time. [14:18] Marguerite     Bel's heart already belongs to someone. [14:21] Both     What?! [14:23] Belgrieve     I keep telling you, it's not like that. [14:26] Miriam     Who, who, who?! Someone from Turnera? [14:29] Miriam     Someone from your adventuring days? [14:31] Anessa     Have you come to Orphen to find her? [14:34] Belgrieve     No, I'm here to track down      some old companions. [14:38] Miriam     Old companions? [14:41] Anessa     Are they still adventuring? [14:43] Belgrieve     I'm not sure. I haven't seen     them in more than twenty years. [14:47] Anessa     What are their names? [14:50] Belgrieve     There's Percival, who was a good swordsman. [14:53] Belgrieve     Kasim was a mage. [14:55] Belgrieve     And there was an elf lady named Satie. [14:59] Lionel     Percival and Kasim? [15:01] Lionel     They're both S-rank adventurers. [15:07] Lionel     Mr. Percival is also known     as the High Sword King. [15:14] Lionel     Mr. Kasim has quit adventuring, but he's      made quite a name for himself as a mage. [15:21] Lionel     They call him the Sky Shatterer. [15:24] Belgrieve     Of course. They well and truly     were incredibly talented. [15:29] Belgrieve     Are they still in Orphen? [15:31] Lionel     No. They left a long time ago. [15:36] Lionel     Ms. Satie left town even before them. [15:40] Lionel     She ended her career at A-rank,     and I haven't heard of her since. [15:45] Belgrieve     Were they not in the same party? [15:48] Lionel     No. By the time I knew them,     they were working separately. [15:53] Belgrieve     I see. [15:57] Belgrieve     Thank you for telling me. [16:00] Lionel     I'm sorry I don't know where they are. [16:04] Belgrieve     It's fine. Just hearing about     them is enough for me. [16:08] Belgrieve     I only just arrived, so I'll take     my time gathering information. [16:12] Anessa     We'll help. Right, Miri? [16:15] Miriam     I've got it! This elf named     Satie is Mr. Bel's sweetheart. [16:21] Marguerite     Correct! [16:26] Cheborg     There you are! [16:28] Cheborg     You're Belgrieve the Red Ogre, aren't you? [16:30] Cheborg     Glad to meet you. [16:33] Dortos     You don't have any manners, do you? [16:37] Dortos     My name is Dortos. We're friends of Ange's. [16:41] Dortos     It's good to meet you, Mr. Belgrieve. [16:45] Belgrieve     The honor is mine, Mr. Cheborg the     Annihilator and Mr. Dortos the Silver. [16:51] Cheborg     You know who I am? [16:55] Lionel     Er, did you need something? [16:58] Cheborg     Ah, right, right! I want to duel the Red Ogre. [17:01] Both     What? [17:02] Dortos     I'd like to request a duel as well. [17:04] Dortos     Before I die, I want to behold the swordsman     who can brush aside Ange's blows. [17:09] Belgrieve     I'm really not that impressive. [17:14] Belgrieve     Fighting two legendary adventurers? [17:17] Belgrieve     Nothing would make a man of the blade happier. [17:20] Belgrieve     Very well. [17:22] Belgrieve     I'm not sure I'll live up to your     expectations, but I accept. [17:33] Dortos     Are you ready? [17:44] Dortos     Begin! [18:16] Cheborg     Not many men hold up so well against me. [18:21] Dortos     I can't believe a man of your skill     has kept himself a secret. [18:25] Cheborg     Let's get a drink and     you can tell me all about yourself. [18:28] Cheborg     My treat. [18:30] Dortos     You should rest today so you can be in     top form tomorrow for our duel. [18:37] Belgrieve     Go easy on me. [18:41] Byaku     I thought that idiot was exaggerating,      but he's for real. [18:55] Gilmenja     You're stunning in that dress, milady. [18:58] Angeline     Don't startle me like that! [19:01] Gilmenja     You look pretty cute. [19:03] Angeline     R-Really? [19:04] Angeline     Do you think my dad would like it? [19:07] Gilmenja     He might even cry tears of joy. [19:09] Angeline     You mean it? [19:11] Gilmenja     Now, let's go for a walk to make sure     you can handle yourself in that dress. [19:17] Angeline     I can walk just fine— [19:22] Gilmenja     You won't be able to move     when you need to like this. [19:31] Angeline     Why do they make this dress     so difficult to move around in? [19:36] Fernand     Where are you going, pretty lady? [19:41] Angeline     Nowhere in particular. [19:45] Gilmenja     How do you do, Lord Fernand? [19:49] Angeline     So this is the grand duke's heir. [19:52] Fernand     I don't recognize you, [19:53] Fernand     which is odd since I know all the     beautiful people around here. [19:58] Fernand     Would you do me the pleasure     of telling me your name? [20:02] Angeline     It's Angeline. [20:04] Fernand     My, what a surprise. [20:07] Fernand     I didn't expect the demon king slayer     to be such a beautiful woman. [20:11] Fernand     Allow me to escort you. [20:13] Fernand     Where were you headed? [20:15] Angeline     U-Um, I was going for a walk... [20:18] Fernand     The weather is pleasant today. [20:20] Fernand     We should tour the gardens, not the mansion. [20:28] Fernand     Anyway, inviting you was the right decision. [20:32] Fernand     Your beauty will brighten the ceremony. [20:36] Angeline     R-Right... [20:38] Francois     Well, well, Brother. [20:40] Fernand     Good day. [20:42] Francois     Who is the young lady? [20:44] Fernand     The guest of honor for the ball. [20:47] Angeline     I'm Angeline. [20:49] Francois     Oh? So you're the Black-Haired Valkyrie. [20:53] Francois     I am Francois. [20:54] Fernand     My brother. [20:56] Angeline     Nice to meet you. [21:03] Fernand     I'm sorry. He takes it upon himself      to guard the grounds, [21:07] Fernand     so he regards everyone warily. [21:10] Fernand     No one suspicious has snuck in, have they? [21:13] Francois     I'm not sure. There are many     people coming and going. [21:18] Francois     It wouldn't be odd if someone     strange slipped in. [21:24] Fernand     Don't scare our guest. [21:26] Fernand     This won't earn you Father's praise. [21:31] Francois     And perhaps you     shouldn't chase so many skirts. [21:35] Francois     Angeline or whatever your name is, [21:37] Francois     don't get carried away just     because you were invited. [21:41] Francois     You may find yourself unexpectedly tripped up. [21:47] Angeline     There's something wrong with all of them. [21:49] Angeline     Nobles are not to be underestimated. [21:59] Kasim     A waste, huh? What's the grand duke     want with a bum like me? [01:46] Kasim     Oh, don't worry about that. [01:51] Kasim     Take me wherever you will. [01:57] Maid     Now, please wait until it's time for the ball. [02:01] Angeline     I wonder if he's still down there... [02:09] Angeline     Where is he? [02:11] Francois     Well, well. [02:13] Francois     What's a little mouse like you doing here? [02:16] Angeline     Nothing. I was just out for a walk. [02:20] Francois     Very well. [02:23] Francois     No need to be so guarded. [02:24] Francois     I know I couldn't beat you in a fight. [02:28] Angeline     Do you need something? [02:31] Francois     I've been meaning to ask if the     estate is to your liking. [02:35] Francois     Or are S-rank adventurers no     longer impressed by such things? [02:40] Angeline     I don't know what you're up to,      but I've had enough. [02:45] Francois     Don't be so cross. [02:46] Francois     I'm the family outcast.     You know what that's like? [02:50] Francois     Aren't adventurers outcasts as well? [02:52] Angeline     No. Don't compare me to you. [02:55] Francois     Of course. At rank S,     you're part of the elite. [02:59] Francois     You're not like other adventurers. [03:01] Francois     Do you have any idea how it feels to be unable     to climb up, no matter how hard you try? [03:09] Francois     I've prepared some entertainment for you. [03:11] Francois     I hope you're looking forward to the ball. [03:19] Angeline     He's really taking it out on me. [03:21] Angeline     I wish the nobles would stick     to fighting each other. [03:40] Angeline     I wanna go home... [03:42] Benjamin     Hello. You look bored. [03:45] Benjamin     Such a lovely lady     shouldn't be hiding over here. [03:51] Benjamin     Let's dance. [03:53] Angeline     Actually, um... [03:55] Prince     I'll lead. [03:56] Angeline     W-Wait— [03:58] Fernand     I'm impressed. [03:59] Fernand     I was having trouble finding you. [04:02] Fernand     I see you've already caught her. [04:05] Benjamin     She's nice. [04:07] Benjamin     What's your name? [04:08] Angeline     It's Angeline. [04:11] Benjamin     Angeline? A fine name. I'll remember it. [04:14] Benjamin     So, when is the ceremony? [04:16] Fernand     Soon. The hall is being     prepared as we speak. [04:20] Villard     Your Highness! Has she given you offense? [04:24] Benjamin     I simply invited her to dance. [04:29] Villard     It was my idea to invite her here today! [04:32] Benjamin     Oh? [04:33] Fernand     You're being rude. Show some restraint. [04:35] Villard     O-Of course, Brother. [04:37] Angeline     By the way, who's this, uh... gentleman? [04:42] Villard     Y-You fool! You don't even     know who this man is?! [04:46] Villard     Behold His Majesty's heir, Prince Benjamin! [04:50] Angeline     This man is the crown prince? [04:54] Benjamin     Nice to meet you, Angeline. [04:59] Fernand     Thank you for coming today, lords and ladies. [05:03] Fernand     We are delighted to see you all doing well. [05:10] Angeline     Hey, what's the crown prince like? [05:13] Gilmenja     As you can see,     he's a man of unrivaled beauty. [05:16] Gilmenja     And not just that. [05:18] Gilmenja     He's a skilled scholar and warrior     who's charismatic to boot. [05:20] Gilmenja     He's so overwhelmingly exceptional,     there was no succession dispute. [05:25] Angeline     So he's a perfect superhuman. [05:28] Gilmenja     Though until a few years ago,      people thought him an utter fool. [05:33] Gilmenja     He used his good looks to deceive     many a woman and spent money lavishly. [05:38] Angeline     But he's changed since? [05:40] Gilmenja     Yes, and very suddenly. [05:44] Villard     Ladies and gentlemen, today     we've invited a most unusual guest! [05:48] Villard     Though there are many heroes,     few can say they've slain a demon king. [05:53] Villard     I present you Angeline     the Black-Haired Valkyrie! [06:07] Villard     She deserves to be recognized for     her skill in felling the demon king! [06:17] Villard     Father, grant this hero an     honor worthy of her deeds. [06:22] Francois     One moment, please. [06:24] Villard     Francois, cease this at once! [06:25] Villard     You're in the presence of our     father and the crown prince! [06:29] Francois     Don't shout, Brother. [06:33] Fernand     You must have a reason for     interrupting the ceremony. [06:39] Francois     Of course. [06:41] Francois     She claims to have slain a demon king. [06:43] Francois     That's certainly quite the achievement... [06:46] Francois     assuming it's true. [06:50] Villard     Wh-What?! Are you accusing her of lying? [06:54] Francois     That's what I'd like to confirm. [06:56] Villard     H-How? [06:58] Francois     A demonstration of her     skills would be quickest. [07:01] Francois     But no ordinary opponent could      face an alleged demon king slayer. [07:07] Francois     So I've brought a suitable combatant. [07:11] Francois     You know him as well. [07:13] Francois     He's the hero who slew the Master of the Void,      the fiend that attacked the empire. [07:18] Francois     They call him the Sky Shatterer. [07:28] Kasim     Hey. Fancy meeting you here. [07:35] Villard     This vagrant is the Sky Shatterer? [07:38] Francois     I shall prove it to you. [07:41] Francois     He will demonstrate the spell he used to slay     the Master of the Void, Hart Langer's Spear. [07:47] Francois     Do it. [07:50] Kasim     Threads twist into strings at my fingertip,     shattering the jaws of distant restraints... [08:02] Kasim     You're sure it's okay to fire?     This'll blow the roof off. [08:05] Francois     Now, hold on. [08:07] Francois     What do you think, Brother? [08:11] Fernand     Please, Sky Shatterer.     Don't destroy the hall. [08:15] Fernand     You've proven your identity,     so could you settle down? [08:27] Benjamin     Now this is interesting. [08:29] Benjamin     I'd love the opportunity to see her abilities. [08:33] Francois     It seems we have His Highness's approval. [08:36] Francois     This is the perfect chance      to see what you can really do. [08:40] Francois     Fight well. [08:53] Francois     Take it. [09:06] Francois     Why, you...! [09:07] Angeline     Heed me. My skills are      not for your entertainment. [09:12] Angeline     They are for protecting the weak     and defeating evil monsters. [09:16] Angeline     I refuse to put on a show! [09:19] Angeline     Mock me for being a coward if you wish. [09:22] Angeline     What meaning is there in an honor     bestowed for such a display? [09:25] Angeline     If you're a noble, where is your dignity?! [09:32] Duke     You're right. [09:37] Duke     Angeline, you are truly dignified. [09:41] Duke     Forgive my sons for being so rude. [09:46] Duke     I never thought I'd see the day an     adventurer taught nobles how to behave. [09:51] Duke     I am delighted. [09:54] Duke     I ask that you accept this honor. [09:57] Duke     Your noble heart is most deserving of it. [10:02] Duke     Do you agree, Your Highness? [10:06] Benjamin     No objections here. [10:08] Duke     Angeline, will you accept? [10:15] Angeline     I humbly accept. [10:35] Duke     I have but one question for you. [10:37] Duke     Where did you learn such integrity? [10:40] Angeline     From my father. [10:42] Duke     I see. He must be a great man. [10:46] Angeline     Yes! He's the best father in the world. [10:51] Francois     Damn! [10:53] Francois     How dare she embarrass me... [10:55] Kasim     Give it up already. [10:58] Kasim     I admire a woman who can speak     her mind to a grand duke. [11:01] Kasim     You don't stand a chance against her. [11:04] Francois     Damn it. I should've let you fire your spell. [11:09] Francois     I could've taken advantage of the     confusion to pull off a coup d'état— [11:14] Benjamin     Hello, Francois. [11:17] Francois     Your Highness... [11:19] Benjamin     I'm disappointed. I thought     you had a wonderful idea. [11:24] Francois     What do you mean? [11:26] Benjamin     I wanted to see the Black-Haired     Valkyrie fight the Sky Shatterer. [11:32] Francois     Ah, you agree? [11:35] Benjamin     You don't often get to see     S-ranks fight to the death. [11:40] Benjamin     You wouldn't hold back, would you? [11:43] Kasim     I don't rightly care. [11:45] Kasim     I think she'd be able to kill me, though. [11:49] Benjamin     Why not take care of the girl? [11:53] Benjamin     You have him at your disposal. [11:56] Francois     If that is your wish, Your Highness. [12:05] Gilmenja     You had me worried. [12:09] Gilmenja     To be honest, I wasn't sure what to do. [12:12] Angeline     Sorry, Gil, but I couldn't take it anymore. [12:17] Gilmenja     You did well. [12:19] Angeline     I'm thinking of writing a letter     since I can't go back to Turnera. [12:24] Angeline     Do you think my father will praise me? [12:26] Gilmenja     Of course! I have no doubt     he'll say he's proud of you. [12:30] Gilmenja     He might be so thrilled     that he'll run straight to Orphen. [12:34] Gilmenja     But I'm not sure you can deliver      a letter to Turnera in winter... [12:39] Angeline     So be it. [12:41] Angeline     I'll tell him about it the next time I'm home. [12:44] Gilmenja     Well then... [12:45] Gilmenja     I'm going to the inn to prepare     for the journey back. [12:49] Gilmenja     See you later. [12:55] Angeline     You came. [12:56] Liselotte     We'll meet again, right? [13:00] Angeline     Come visit me next time. [13:07] Liselotte     Okay! [13:08] Angeline     It's a promise. [13:10] Liselotte     Oh, I know... [13:13] Liselotte     Take that dress with you. [13:15] Liselotte     You can keep it. [13:17] Angeline     What? I can't do that... [13:19] Angeline     Besides, I have nowhere to wear it. [13:21] Liselotte     It's fine. It's a token of our friendship. [13:24] Liselotte     Right? That's fine, isn't it? [13:27] Angeline     Okay. Thank you for the gift. [13:29] Angeline     I'll wear it for my dad. [13:32] Liselotte     It looked wonderful on you.     I'm sure he'll compliment you on it. [13:36] Angeline     Thanks. [13:49] Angeline     What do you want? [13:51] Francois     Your high and mighty speech     disgusts me, you hypocrite. [13:55] Angeline     There are no hypocrites when     it comes to doing good deeds. [13:59] Angeline     Are you dumb or what? [14:00] Guard     My lord, give the word. [14:02] Angeline     Don't. Do you really think you can beat me? [14:09] Kasim     How did things turn out like this? [14:13] Angeline     I could ask you the same thing. [14:16] Angeline     You'd fight me? [14:17] Kasim     I don't have anything better to do. [14:23] Angeline     I don't want to fight you, Mr. Kasim. [14:28] Kasim     That right? [14:29] Kasim     I think you could kill me if you wanted to. [14:33] Angeline     You want to die? But why? [14:37] Kasim     Because I'm a coward. [14:39] Kasim     I'm scared to die, but I'm tired of living. [14:43] Kasim     If I'm gonna eat it, I'd rather go     fighting someone stronger than me. [14:50] Angeline     Let's not do this.     Your death would sadden Lise. [14:59] Angeline     Why are you doing what they tell you?! [15:01] Kasim     When people lose heart, they go wild. [15:07] Kasim     You could say I pity myself     and my tragic circumstances. [15:14] Kasim     Or perhaps I'm trying to atone for my sins. [15:18] Angeline     But you're strong. You don't     have to be so hard on yourself. [15:24] Kasim     You're so young. [15:34] Kasim     I used to think the same way. [15:38] Kasim     That I could do anything     just because I was strong. [15:42] Kasim     My friend was distraught. [15:44] Kasim     But he was such a good guy     he tried to make sure no one knew. [15:49] Kasim     And that hurt because     we couldn't tell what was going on. [15:53] Kasim     What use is it being a good fighter     in a struggle like that? [15:58] Kasim     Strength wasn't what I needed.     It was something else altogether. [16:06] Kasim     I thought I could find the answer     if I climbed even higher, [16:12] Kasim     but I was just fooling myself. [16:15] Kasim     To cut to the chase,     I stopped caring about anything. [16:24] Angeline     I can't die here. [16:28] Kasim     I don't care if I do. [16:30] Kasim     Don't hold back. [16:32] Francois     Don't worry! [16:34] Francois     Once you're dead, I'll send your supposedly     peerless father right after you! [16:40] Angeline     Don't be ridiculous! [16:41] Angeline     My father is Belgrieve the Red Ogre! [16:45] Angeline     He'd destroy you in an instant! [16:55] Kasim     Y-You... [16:57] Angeline     Wh-What? [16:58] Kasim     Did you just say "Belgrieve"? [17:01] Kasim     He's your father? [17:05] Angeline     That's what I said, yes. [17:07] Kasim     I knew it! Is he missing his right leg? [17:12] Angeline     Yes. Do you know him? [17:15] Kasim     Of course I do! We're... [17:18] Kasim     W-We're friends.     If he still thinks so, anyway. [17:23] Angeline     I don't know what the story is, [17:25] Angeline     but my father's not the kind of      petty man to hold a grudge. [17:31] Kasim     You got that right!     Seeing you fills me with hope. [17:35] Kasim     Tell me more about Bel. [17:37] Kasim     Who'd he marry and have you with? [17:40] Kasim     You look nothing like him. [17:42] Angeline     Actually, he took me in. [17:44] Kasim     What? He did? [17:45] Francois     Hey, what are you doing? [17:47] Kasim     Tell me more about— [17:47] Francois     Destroy her! Do you hear me? [17:48] Kasim     Shut up! [17:53] Kasim     Man, that was close. [17:55] Kasim     I nearly killed my friend's daughter. [17:58] Angeline     I might've won, you know. [18:00] Kasim     Ha, no doubt about it! [18:02] Kasim     You're leaving the estate, right? [18:05] Kasim     I'll go with you. [18:07] Angeline     What? But... [18:08] Kasim     Tell me more about Bel. [18:11] Kasim     I'll tell you about his past, too. [18:14] Angeline     Got it! [18:16] Angeline     I can talk about Dad all night long! [18:19] Kasim     That's the spirit. [18:26] Benjamin     What a letdown. [18:28] Schwartz     I thought I'd get a better sense of her     strength against the Sky Shatterer. [18:34] Benjamin     And we must find a key soon so we     can determine if she's a success. [18:41] Schwartz     Do not worry. [18:43] Benjamin     You're too serious. [18:47] Schwartz     Is disguising yourself as the crown prince      your idea of entertainment? [18:52] Benjamin     It's pretty fun. [18:55] Schwartz     I'm leaving now. Keep your wits about you. [19:00] Benjamin     You too, Schwartz. [19:09] Belgrieve     The Sky Shatterer, huh? [19:12] Belgrieve     He was pretty talented. [19:16] Miriam     Welcome back, Ange! [19:18] Angeline     I made it. [19:19] Belgrieve     Ah, she's home. [19:21] Anessa     Hey, I'm glad you made the trip. [19:24] Anessa     Welcome home, Ange. [19:27] Angeline     Thanks. [19:29] Angeline     But I wish my dad were     here to welcome me back... [19:37] Belgrieve     Ange. [19:40] Angeline     What? [19:40] Belgrieve     How was Estogal? [19:43] Angeline     Dad! [19:46] Angeline     Dad, Dad, Dad! [19:49] Belgrieve     What am I going to do with you? [19:52] Angeline     Oh, right! I met your old friend. [20:07] Angeline     What are you doing? [20:09] Kasim     You didn't tell me he was in Orphen. [20:13] Kasim     I'm not ready yet. [20:15] Angeline     Seriously? [20:18] Belgrieve     Is that you, Kasim? [20:22] Kasim     You grew out your beard, Bel. [20:30] Belgrieve     So have you. [20:34] Miriam     Oh, Ange! [20:36] Angeline     It's true. When I decide to do something... [20:38] Kasim     After you left Orphen,     Percy and Satie didn't smile anymore. [20:44] Kasim     It's ironic. [20:46] Kasim     We all wanted to help you, [20:49] Kasim     but we all started hating each other. [20:53] Kasim     Percy and Satie fought all the time,     and I didn't know what to do. [21:00] Belgrieve     So you split up? [21:02] Kasim     Yeah. [21:04] Kasim     Satie left. Then Percy and      I went our separate ways. [21:08] Kasim     I was desperate. [21:11] Kasim     I reached S-rank and became     a great mage, but it was all in vain. [21:16] Kasim     I got older, but I'm still a kid inside. [21:19] Kasim     I know you had it the hardest, too. [21:23] Belgrieve     You know, I was jealous of you guys. [21:27] Kasim     What? [21:29] Belgrieve     You three were overflowing     with confidence and talent, [21:33] Belgrieve     and I couldn't acknowledge my own worth. [21:35] Kasim     You're wrong! That's not... [21:38] Belgrieve     But I was able to move forward     because I lost my leg. [21:44] Belgrieve     I met Ange. [21:48] Belgrieve     And now I've been reunited     with you thanks to her. [21:52] Belgrieve     For me, she's the future. [21:57] Kasim     The future, huh? [21:59] Kasim     I've been stuck in the past all this time. [22:02] Belgrieve     It's good to see you again, Kasim. [22:04] Belgrieve     I'm sorry for hurting you. And thank you. [22:12] Kasim     I'm sorry, Bel! [22:15] Kasim     Thank you! [22:19] Belgrieve     Let's drink tonight. [22:22] Belgrieve     Everyone wants to hear your stories. [22:25] Kasim     Yeah. [22:27] Belgrieve     Huh? Where'd they go? [22:30] Angeline     I ch-changed my mind.     This is too embarrassing. [22:39] Angeline     U-Um, they gave me this dress to take home. [22:43] Angeline     Wh-What do you think, Dad?
